Leh:
Once capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, Leh is the second largest district in the country in terms of area. The town is still dominated by the now ruined Leh Palace, former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh. Leh connects via National Highway 1D connects it to Srinagar in the southwest and to Manali in the south via Leh-Manali Highway. Leh was important stopoveron trade routes along the Indus Valley between Tibet to the east, Kashmir to the west.
Nubra Valley:
Nubra Valley, 150 km north of Leh is the capital town of Ladakh. Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra, which means the valley of flowers in local language. The Shyok River meets the Nubra to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and the Karakoram Ranges. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La from Leh as non-locals require an Inner Line Permit to enter Nubra. The Nubra River is a tributary of the Shyok River, which flows into the Indus River to the east of Skardu, Pakistan.
Ladakh:
Ladakh, also known as the land of high passes lies between the Kunlun mountain range in the north and main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Tibetan descent. One of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir, the region included the Baltistan valleys, the Indus Valley, Aksai Chin and Ngari, including the Rudok region and the Nubra valleys to the north. Ladakh is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and culture as it is sometimes called "Little Tibet" for being strongly influenced by Tibetan culture. Day 1 : Leh
Our representative will welcome you at the airport and you will be then transferred to the hotel booked for your stay in the town. The day at Leh will be free for you to relax and get yourself acclimatized to the high altitudes of 3500 meters of Leh. The sky above is a vivid blue and the breathless and the snow-capped mountains making the visitor breathless, Leh a favorite of backpackers and holidaymakers is cloistered with travel agencies, souvenir shops and travelers. Spend the day staring at the breathtaking vistas from the comfort of your hotel room.Evening visit to Shanti Stupa will offer the best aerial views of Leh town and the surrounding serenity there.
Day 2 : Nimu
Post breakfast guests will be heading for a 60 km long drive to Nimu, the confluence of rivers Indus & Zanskar meet. En-route you will be witnessing the gravity defying phenomenon of the Magnetic Hill. The day’s sightseeing tour will end with a visit to Hall of Fame to pay homage to the war heroes while returning to Leh in the afternoon. Evening at Leh will be free to explore the local market at own. (Enjoy Rafting on Zanskar – Optional and at additional cost.)
Day 3 : Nubra valley
After breakfast, drive to Nubra valley via Khardung La Pass. The pass is known amongst one of the highest motorable passes of the world. The drive from Khardung La Pass will take you to Nubra Valley which is the capital town of Ladakh. Afternoon on arrival in Nubra valley visit the white Sand Dunes near Hunder where members can spot the central Asian Double Humped Camels and enjoy riding it too (Optional, at additional cost). Later set out on a visit to Deskit Monastery and observe the grandeur of the place there. Overnight stay will be at a campsite.
Day 4 : Samstanling Monastery
Post breakfast the day will be at leisure or if desired you can set on an excursion to Samstanling Monastery in Keygar village and Sand Dunes at Sumur. Those interested can hike up the hills to visit the sacred lake of Yarab Tso, nestled among pristine mountains near the hot water springs of Panamik. Proceed back to Leh in the evening.
Day 5 : Pangong Lake
Early morning start for full day excursion to Pangong Lake. The Pangong Lake is surely one of the most amazing lakes in Asia for it changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. Situated in the Himalayas at an altitude of 4350 meters the lake is known for its unique characters and spectacular views. The lake is a wonderful sight with crystal clear blue lake surrounded by colorful barren mountains. Drive back to Leh by evening and enjoy leisurely time in the local bazaars. Overnight stay at campsite
Day 6 : Pangong Tso Lake
Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise near exceptionally beautiful, Pangong Tso Lake. Post breakfast guests will embark upon journey back to Leh visiting Thiksey and Shey monasteries that are the among the most magnificent Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. The monasteries reflect rich Tibetan Buddhist heritage of Ladakh which are adorned with priceless thankas, statues and wall paintings. Also, visit the beautiful Indus River en-route. Evening at Leh will be free for leisure activities.
Day 7 : Ladakh
Enjoy the day at Leisure. Guests may choose from one of the many options to explore Ladakh such as exploring Ladakh on a motorbike or a 4X4 vehicle, or pedal down the highest motorable road on a cycle, to go rafting or visit the purest of Aryan tribes in Dha-Hanu or simply relaxing at the resort.
