Some of India's largest protected areas may be found in the Eastern Himalayas region, which is brimming with wildlife. The Mishmi Hills and Namdapha are two of the greatest locations in Northeast India to see the unique, regionally specific woodland birds.
Arunachal Pradesh's Namdapha National Park is a sizable protected area. The Eastern Himalayas have a hotspot for biodiversity there. The world's northernmost lowland evergreen rainforests may be found in the national park. The park is home to a wide range of animal and bird species due to the difference in elevations and plant zones.
Northeastern Arunachal Pradesh's Mishmi Hills region has seen more tourism recently as the state's travel restrictions have been loosened. The location has remarkable avian variety since it covers a wide altitudinal range over a little amount of ground space. It is also challenging to forecast because a lot of species migrate up or down depending on the weather.
In order to safeguard the Indian rhinoceros population, Kaziranga National Park was formed in the northeastern Indian state of Assam. Two-thirds of the world's population of this endangered species are found at Kaziranga, a conservation success story that is currently home to the biggest population of Indian rhinoceroses. Along with other creatures including Wild Water Buffalo, Swamp Deer, Asian Elephant, and many others, it is also home to tigers in large numbers. Numerous bird species may be found in Kaziranga.
Key Species: Purple and Green Cochoa, Himalayan Owl, Cachar Wedge-billed Babbler, Sclater's Monal, Blyth's Tragopan, Rusty-bellied.
