Family Desert Trek 4 Days

Package Overview

Camel trekking in the Moroccan Sahara desert in 4 days. The tour starts from the red city of Marrakech to the village of Tamsahelte where our trek begins along the small Berber villages and plateau full of black stones. The first day we visit the neolithic rock carvings in Ait Ouazik and the next day we sleep in a berber tent in the middle of the dunes of Foum Tizza.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Marrakesh – Ouarzazate – Tamsahelte

  We start from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate via Tizi n’Tichka, en route we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kashbas of Ait ben Haddou and Kasbah of Tourirt in ouarzazate In the town of Agdez we visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt. After lunch we drive toTamsahelte along the Draa Valley where we spend the first night in a quiet village. The next day we start our camel trekking to Ait Oazik.

• Day 2 : Tamsahelte – Ait Ouazik

  The camel trekking starts in the morning after breakfast at the Kasbah. We leave on foot with our camels accross a rocky plateau. Once arrived in Ait Ouazik, our cook prepares our lunch and we eat in the shade of a tree. After lunch we continue our journey to the neolithic rock carvings close to Ait Ouazik which we will visit and we stay overnight in tents in an oasis.

• Day 3 : Ait Ouazik – Foum Tizza

  After breakfast we leave on foot towards the Amrad. We will be passing little Berber villages and will walk on a plateau between black rocks and tamaris trees. These plants provide shelter to the agricultural regions against sand and dust storms. As we step further, we detect already some sand ridges until we finally arrive at Forum Tizza where we camp and enjoy the sunset from the dunes

• Day 4 : Foum Tizza – Tamsahelte – Marrakech

  This day starts with saying goodbye to our cook and the camels and return to the hotel in Tamsahelte for breakfast and for taking a shower. Hereafter we drive back to Marrakech where this adventurous camel trekking ends.
