  Gangasagar, a sacred destination in West Bengal where the Ganges River meets the Bay of Bengal, is primarily visited during the Makar Sankranti festival in mid-January. This is when a large number of pilgrims gather for a holy dip at the confluence. The weather during this time is relatively mild and suitable for the visit.
