Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival and Halt at Gangtok

You will be received by us on your arrival on at Green Field Airport, Pakyong Sikkim / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) West Bengal. From your arrival at the location we will be assisting your transfer to Gangtok, which is 30 kilometers from if arrival is at the Pakyong airport and nearly 135 kilometers from new Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra airports which will take at least 4.5 to 5 hour of road travel.

Gangtok is a capital of Sikkim, has plenty of places to see for the tourist according to the interest of the visitor. It has place for the spirituality oriented person to visit the local tranquil monasteries. Adventure sports for like rock climbing, hiking and paragliding for the adventurers along the picturesque views of snowcapped peaks. It's a perfect place to start a memorable tour of North Sikkim. The Evening is free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center. Check out the beautiful handicrafts. Be back to the hotel on time. Take ample rest in your hotel room and enjoy the leisure activities of the hotel property.

Day 2 : Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Full Day)

The Tsongmo Lake and the Baba Mandir in local colloquial is the place to see on the second day of your visit. The Lake which comes first is nearly 40km from Gangtok will be an adventure in itself. The beautiful Tsomgo Lake is an oval shaped glacial lake, the lake lies at an altitude of 12,400 ft. Baba Mandir is another sight to visit around 10km distance more from the lake. The temple is name after an army man; Baba Harbhajan Singh who sacrificed his life for the nation. There is an option to visit the
Nathu La Pass which is a gateway to china from India by road and is a famous silk route. The beauty of the place and the thrill of being almost to another nation may tempt you for a ride. After your day tour, get back to Gangtok for overnight stay at hotel. The journey to the hill top may give you light headedness. You may like to rest and relax at the hotel and if you are energetic enough you may explore the Gangtok town at your own will and cherish the moments for your coming years.
(In case of landslide or any reasons if Tsomgo Lake is closed, alternative sightseeing will be provided.)

Day 3 : Travel from Gangtok to Lachen

It is better to start the next day early with morning breakfast in hotel. As the drive is through mountainous road with lots of twist and turns of around 135 km which takes around 5 to 6 hour of drive with halt in between for light refreshments at Phodong , Mangan and Chungthang. The places of halt itself are an area of interests for the travel lover. In between you may be welcomed by the pristine waterfalls, scenic beauty of north Sikkim Mountains. Lachen is a beautiful hamlet in north Sikkim. Although the hamlet has handful of population it has abundant blessings of nature . Scenic hamlet is surrounded by the snow capped mountains and shingbha wild life sanctuary. You will also have opportunity to visit the Chopta Vally and Thangu. As the drive will be long you need to relax and refresh yourself for your journey tomorrow to see the local places of interests.

Day 4 : Visit to Gurudongmar Lake and Drive to Lachung

Early morning breakfast is the key for the good sightseeing as the roads are treacherous and being the high altitude area the movement of the vehicle will be at the slow pace. First is the visit to Gurudongmar lake which is 55 KM from Lachen.. The almost 4 hours' drive takes you for an adventure. The Gurudongmar Lake is nestled in a valley at an altitude of 17, 800 feet, is a place of religious significance. Though the lake waters are frozen from December to April, a part of the water remains in liquid form all throughout the year. After the visit and praying at the holy lake and immersing yourself with the nature spirit you shall be back to the hotel for the lunch and with the lunch it is the time to pack yourself for the visit to another twin hamlet of Lachen called Lachung on the other side of the high mountain but it takes a long route to reach there. The ride offers you the spectacular view of rhododendrons forest and flowery valley if your visit matches with the season. It will be almost evening by the time you reach Lachung. You can check in the hotel and reserve the time to relax, and explore the local area if you have the energy to do so because the journey to the high altitude without acclimatization may make you tired.

Day 5 : Visit to Yumthang valley and Drive to Gangtok

This day will be the day of adventure and long travel too. Therefore the early breakfast will be better. After the breakfast your journey will begin for the Yumthang valley situated at nearly 11,800 feet. On the way to the valley you will come across the Hot Spring which is known for its healing properties. Near the river Lachung Chu, Yumthang is a valley surrounded by towering snow covered mountains. The ethereal beauty is grace for all visitors. Feel blessed as you witness the natural spectacle. In spring this valley is covered with the colors of Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers.
You shall be back to hotel for the return journey to Gangtok. After the lunch at the hotel you shall start the journey back on the long north Sikkim highway for the next five hours. As you would like to relax and get ready for the journey back home , you may like to stay at home-stay to have a feel of rural life of east Sikkim.

Day 6 : Journey back home

After the rest at the quite home-stay, pack your bags for the onward journey back home. The breakfast will be local and rural kind if stayed at the home-stay at Pakyong. Pack your bags and get your ride back to Pakyong Airport / Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction.
