Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Fly from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth

    After arriving on your Doha flight to Johannesburg, transfer to your Safair flight to Port Elizabeth at 6:45pm arriving at 8pm. Organise a complimentary aiport transfer from your accommodation with Hallack Manor when booking.

  • Day 2 : Pick Up Car Hire and Drive to Addo National Park. Drive to Tsistisktsi for Overnight.

    After breakfast get a complimentary hotel transfer back to Port Elizabeth airport and pick up your hire care from BIDVEST CAR RENTAL. This is a one way rental you will drop off at the end of your trip at Cape Town Airport.

    Drive to 1 hour to Addo National Park. You can use your own vehicle in Addo, but make sure the conditions are dry enough for your vehicle.

    $25 per person park entry fees and a good idea to hire a guide at $25 to join your car. If conditions don’t suit your car join a guided 4WD tour for $35. All information is on the Addo National Park website:

  • Day 5 : Gansbaai Shark Cage Diving. Drive to Cape Town After a Delicious B

    After a delicious breakfast, you will take part in a once in a lifetime experience of cage diving. Gansbaai is also known as Shark Alley and you only have to go out 20 minutes from shore to find these powerful and intimidating creatures. There are only 8 operators in Gansbaai and we recommend as a long established operator with a perfect safety record and great facilities
    After your cage dive drive on to the world famous Cape Town an take in the view of this picturesque world class and thriving city with Table Mountain as the backdrop.

  • Day 6 : Table Mountain and Cape Town Nightlife

    After breakfast take a Cable Car ride up Table Mountain. This is now officially a modern seventh wonder of the world.

  • Day 7 : Day Wine Tour and Whale Wathcing. Drop of Car and Catch Your Domestic Flight to Johanessburg to Cont

    Wine Flies run the best value, most enjoyed and fun wine tours in Cape Town. They have two tours to choose from and both are around $80. We recommend the Wine and Whale watching option.
    After the tour get dropped back to your car at your hotel and head for the airport to catch your 7:50pm flight from Cape Town arriving in Johannesburg at 8:45pm.

  • Day 8 : Fly Johanessburg to Victoria Falls Zimbabwe. Walking with the Lions Experience.

    Take your FASTJET flights from Johannesburg at 12:35pm arriving at Victoria Falls at 2:15pm. Your airport transfer to Shearwater Explorers Lodge will be waiting for you.

    At 2:45pm you will be picked up from Shearwater and taken to Masuwe Estate, only 10 minutes from the centre of Victoria Falls town you’ll find a group of lion cubs ranging from 3 to 16 months of age.



    These lion cubs offer guests an unparalleled experience and insight into the behaviour of this threatened African species.



    The “walking with lions” encounter is an opportunity to interact with 2 or 3 cubs for up to an hour and a half during a single session.



    The lions are unrestrained and roam free as you join them on a walk through riverine vegetation and African bush on the banks of the Masuwe River.


    The encounter is fully supervised and professionally managed by an experienced and qualified team who have been working with lions for over 20 years originally at Gweru’s Antelope Park.



    This activity is available in Zimbabwe only but arrangements can be easily made for guests staying in Livingstone on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls.



    African Encounter has established Victoria Fall’s first “Lion Encounter”. This activity offers a once in a lifetime insight into the behaviour and social aspects of one of Africa’s most sought after photographic subjects, the Lion.



    The training techniques used by the Lion Encounter team are based on years of experience gained by the management and staff who have been walking and interacting with lions for over 20 years. (By early 2005 approximately 15000 walks had been conducted without incident proving the efficacy of the training and rehabilitation techniques adopted).



    You will be transported back to your lodge in time for dinner and overnight

  • Day 9 : Guided Tour of Victoria Falls, Angel Flight and Zambesi Sundowner.

    Duration: Approx 1½ – 2½ hours depending on how much time clients want to spend taking photographs and admiring the spectacular views.
    A knowledgeable guide will take you on an unforgettable experience through the Victoria Falls rainforest, a journey that not only affords a view of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World but provides a great deal of interesting facts about the geology, wildlife and history of Africa’s most famous landmark. Listen to magical tales of local legend while you enjoy the constant spray from the “The Smoke that Thunders”.
    The Shearwater guide will also help ensure the best photographic opportunities of this breathtaking World Heritage Site. At the end of the tour, Shearwater’s own Rainforest Cafe provides an ideal place to stop and refuel before your next adventure.

    In the afternoon it’s time to take the “Flight of Angels”. This is an amazing journey over the 1700m vast curtain of water known locally as the “MosioaTunya” (the smoke that thunders) and along the Zambezi River and the Zambezi National Park. Passengers are treated to an unforgettable helicopter journey comprising of 4 circuits (2 on either side) offering unrivalled spectacular views, photographic, and filming opportunities and putting the full breadth and height of The Falls into glorious perspective within the surrounding environment.

    Finally you get to finish to day off with a stunning Sundowner cruising the Zambesi river as the sun sets and cold beverage relaxes you as the wildlife of the river show themselves.

  • Day 10 : Whitewater Rafting the Mighty Zambesi.

    As the river levels drop off the rapid intensity grows and low water rafting season kicks off. The flag ship rafting adventure – low water season takes you from rapid #1 through to rapid #19, many of which are graded 5, the best white water rapids in the world. Begin your adrenalin run in the boiling pot directly below the Victoria Falls and hammer your way through infamous rapids, whose names were conjured to instil fear and trepidation into would-be rafters, “The Overland Truck-eater”, “The Mother”, “Gnashing Jaws of Death” and the final biggy of the day “Oblivion”. Our experienced guides will steer you on an unforgettable ride through the formidable rapids of the mighty Zambezi.

  • Day 11 : Chobe National Park Game Viewing

    A full day Safari package comprising a Cruise on the Chobe River and a Game Drive in the world famous Chobe National Park. Only an hour’s drive from Victoria Falls, the Chobe National Park in Botswana is home to one of the largest game concentrations in Africa. Bordered by the banks of the breath-taking Chobe River, it is famous for its rich elephant and lion population. The tour departs daily from Victoria Falls where guests are transferred by road for 70km to the border where their Botswana guide will meet them after immigration procedures.

  • Day 12 : Adrenaline Day: Livingstone Island and Devils Pool Experience. You’re Choice of a Bungy Jump, Brid

    After breakfast you will take a 7:30am guided tour of Livingston Island and Devil’s Pool. Victoria Falls is one of the world’s natural wonders and among the most spectacular sights in all of Africa. The best vantage point from where to witness this immense mass of water is Livingstone Island, the place where Dr David Livingstone first glimpsed Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders).

    This tour takes you by boat that will take you through the fast-moving channels of the Zambezi, a thrilling journey.

    On the island you will be given a guided tour, learning about its history from ancient times when it served as a sacrificial site to the present day and its World Heritage status.If you’re looking to flirt with the wild side, swimin one of world’s most fascinating pools of water, Devil’s Pool, can be experienced during your guided tour of Livingstone Island. This isn’t your ordinary swim in an infinity pool, but a daring dip on the very edge of the Victoria Falls. Brave swimmers will get to experience the ultimate thrill of peering over the brim of the largest curtain of falling water.

    Did you know… guided tours to Livingstone Island have a 100% safety record? It is illegal to visit the Island with a private guide or on your own.



    Your Devil’s Pool experience ends around 9:30am and now it’s time for one last rush. Your choice of a Bungy Jump, Bridge Swing or Bridge Slide from Victoria Falls Bridge. The Bungy Jump or Swing is for the serious adrenaline junky, however the Bridge Slide is for anyone who likes a more controlled but still exciting rush.



    On return at around 11am, check out and transfer to Victoria Falls airport heading back to Johannesburg and your connecting flight on to your next adventure in East Africa and the Mountain Gorillas. Your flight arrives in Johannesburg at around 3pm and your connecting flight to Kigali, Rwanda goes via Kenya and leaves at 5:15pm and arrives in Kigali shortly after midnight.

  • Day 13 : Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha: 55kms/1hr Drive

    On arrival in Kilimanjaro International airport you will be transferred to Arusha town. Overnight

  • Day 14 : Arusha to Tarangire National Park: 12kms/2hrs Drive

    After breakfast depart for Tarangire, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population for game drive, with picnic lunch. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, and cheetahs and up to six thousand elephants. In the afternoon, you will continue to Sanguine Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight on full board basis. Dinner and overnight

  • Day 15 : Tarangire to Manyara National Park: 75kms/1.5hrs Drive

    After breakfast depart with picnic boxes to Lake Manyara national park for game drive. In this small but very beautiful park with dense forest you will have opportunity to see lots of monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, dikdik, flamingos in the lake and if you are lucky you may spot the rare tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight

  • Day 16 : Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park ( Central):205kms/4.5hrs Drive

    After breakfast you will drive to Central Serengeti for game drive with picnic lunch. In this area of the park you will have opportunity to see big prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, different antelopes and other wildlife. In the late afternoon you will drive to your campfor dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight

  • Day 17 : Serengeti National Park ( central)

    After breakfast you will depart with picnic boxes for a full day of game viewing in Serengeti national park. In this area of the park you will have opportunity to see big prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, different antelopes and other wildlife.   • Day 18 : Serengetito Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu: 170kms/hrs Drive

    After an early breakfast, depart with picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game drive. The crater has a good number of lions and cheetahs, and it is another good place to see the rare black rhino. Dinner and overnight

  • Day 19 : Karatu to Kilimanjaro International Airport: 220kms/3.5hrs Drive

    After breakfast depart with picnic boxes and drive to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home as per your flight details.
