During the 6 days of the Gangotri Gaumukh Tapovan trek you can marvel at all of the beauty of Gaumukh Glacier, Which is one of the main sources of water for the river Ganga. Moving towards the peak you can visit Several other attractions which will be found on our way through that includes some amazing pilgrimage sites, The caves and the huts housing ascetics which are quite inspiring. The main trek will start from Rishikesh. Some of the well-known holy rivers and landscapes can be seen on our way from Uttarkashi to Gangotri. After covering the paths that leads to the region The magnificent beauty of Bhojwasa can be observed. Through steep climbs of the high altitude fields You can grab the sight of the great towers in the Himalayan ranges that are spreading across the region very closely that has been conquered by other climbers previously Beholding the magnificent beauty of the Bhagirathi group of peaks, The trekkers will continue there way to Gaumukh and then towards Tapovan. Its a lifetime experience to observe the flora and fauna of the particular region as you keep continuing your trek on the seventh and eighth day. The trip will be finished after six days with some of the precious and amazing memories created on incredible locations.


About the Destination:


One of the most amazing and exciting treks Gaumukh Tapovan resembles the mouth of a cow, The holy ganga river gets its water from the glaciers of Gaumukh Trek. The Gangotri Group-Shivling, Thalay Sagar, Meru, and Bhagirathi can be seen from around the glacier, An important pilgrimage site which is believed that a dip in its water is a sacred ritual. Reaching a height of around 14,640 ft Tapovan is located on the foothills of the shivling peak that is considered to be the most challenging route for the mountaineers a crowd of sadhus can be seen oftenly, You will be through some untouched part of the region during this exciting trek of Gaumukh Tapovan. Wonder the sight of the beauty of this charming region while trekking. You will be fascinated by the glimpse of the Bhagirathi sisters glistening in the moonlight from Bhojbasa Normally The trekking trail has stable inclines and level walks. Moving on for another 20-30 minutes and you will see another stream running below a bridge. The peak of bhagirathi can be viewed clearly from chirbasa. Additionally unmistakable out there is the mouth of the glacier. This gaumukh tapovan trek will be one of the most thrilling and unforgettable trek for you.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh–Utarkashi-Gangotri (250kms/7-8hrs) (3048m/10,000ft)

  Get transferred to Utarkashi (1150mt) via a hill town of Chamba and Tehri which takes 5-6hrs. As your each Gangotri check-into your hotel. In the evening, you are free to explore the nearby places on your own.

• Day 2 : Gangotri (3048mts/10000ft)-Bhojwassa (3792mts/12440ft) (14kmstrek/5-6hrs)

  Today,post breakfast, start trekking to wards Bhojwassa via Chirbasa (3600mt). The entire trail passes through dense forest.
  
  You can watch a small temple near the destination and a beautiful campsite near down the river in Bhojwassa.
  
  Enjoy staying at the river side camps. Amble around the picture perfect surrounding and in the evening head to witness the stunning sunset on Bhagirathi group of peaks.
  
  Have dinner and a peace full stay at

• Day 3 : Bhojwassa-Gomukh (3890mts/12760ft)-Tapovan (4463mts/14640ft)

  After break fast trek to Gomukh (3890mt), the source of the Ganges.
  
  Explore the area and trek to Tapovan, vone of the finest high altitude alpine meadows in the area.
  
  The trek from Gomukh to Tapovan is steep, and as one climbs, the view of the surrounding peaks becomes clearer.
  
  Have dinner and enjoy the camp stay at Tapovan.

• Day 4 : Tapovan-Bhojwassa (4340mts/14235/Trek4-5hrs)

  Today you will be trekking to Bhojwassa where you will get enough time to explore the beautiful surroundings and meander through the stunning pathways.
  
  Post dinner, retire for the night in your tents.

• Day 5 : Bhojwassa-Gangotri (3048m/10000ft)Trek(6kms/4-5hrs).

  Post breakfast in the morning, trek down to Gangotri and the down hill trek for 5 to 6 hours will let you reach the hotel at Gangotri.
