Gaumukh Trek Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Delhi

  Arrive Delhi and after meeting and assistance at airport transfer to hotel. Overnight: Hotel.
• Day 2 : Delhi - Haridwar

  Morning board shatabdi train (AC Chair Car) from New Delhi railway station and leave for Haridwar. Arrive and transfer to Hotel. Evening visit Har ki Pauri to see the Famous Ganga Aarti (Worship of Holy river Ganga). Return back to hotel after that for overnight stay.
• Day 3 : Haridwar - Gangotri (265 km, Drive)

  Morning breakfast at hotel and later drive to Gangotri via Chamba and Uttarkashi. Gangotri is the place where the Goddess Ganga descended on Earth from Heaven. There is a Temple of Goddess Ganga where thousands of devotees pay homage to her.

• Day 4 : Gangotri (3048 mts/10000 ft) - Bhojwasa (3792 mts/12440 ft) 13 kms trek/5-6 hrs)

  Morning after breakfast we commence our trek to Bhojwasa via Chirbasa (3600mt). From Gangotri we move along the beaten track towards Chirbasa, which is on tree line. The entire trek today is along the roaring Bhagirathi River. Beyond Chirbasa the terrain becomes really desolate and barren. In fact, it has been referred to as Artic Tundra by many trekkers
• Day 5 : Bhojwasa (3792 mts) – Tapovan (4463 mts) (10 Km trek / 6- 7 Hrs)

  Early in the morning enjoy the panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. After Breakfast trek to Gaumukh (3890mt), the source of the Ganges. Gaumukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down from the glaciers. The sages called it 'Gaumukh', because it used to appear as the face of Cow in early days. The trek from Gaumukh to Tapovan is ascent steep, and as we climb, the views of the surrounding peaks become clearer. They appear to be just a stone's throw away.
• Day 6 : Tapovan

  Rest, relax and enjoy the magnificent snow clapped peaks in the barren cold mountain desert. Tapovan is basecamp for Mount. Shivlinga(6543m.), Meru (6660m.), Manda I, II & III (6856m, 6512m & 6529m). Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
• Day 7 : Tapovan - Nandanvan

  Now we trek to Nandan van via Gomukh glacier. The route from Tapovan leads from the upper section of the meadow till down and onto the glacier. From Gomukh turn towards Nandanvan (4340m) and steering on right one will be on top of the Gangotri glacier. Nandanvan is a high altitude meadow base at an elevation of 4500m, it offers a wide panoramic view of surrounding Bhagirathi group of peaks I, II& III, Shivlang and Satopanth (7075m) mountain peaks. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.

• Day 8 : Nandanvan - Bhojbasa

  Today trek down to Bhojbasa. Arrive at Bhojbasa and camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
• Day 9 : Bhojbasa - Gangotri

  Today trek down to Gangotri, and then drive to Uttarkashi. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

• Day 10 : Uttarkashi - Rishikesh

  Drive to Rishikesh via Chamba , New Tehri).
  
  Rishikesh Local Sight Seeing (Ram Jhulla, Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Parmarth Niketan, Shivananda and Gita Kutir).
  
  Drive to Haridwar. Visit Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi Temple. Haridwar local Sightseeing ( Bharat Mata Temple, Shanti Kunj, Maya Devi Mandir, Parad Shivling ) Visit Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri.

• Day 11 : Haridwar - Delhi

  Drive towards Delhi and On Arr. Delhi, transfer to Railway Station / Airport.
