Ghorepani Poon hill Trek is the most popular short trek in Annapurna region which does not demand pre trekking experiences. Ghorepani Poon hill trek offers the magnificent mountain scenery taking you all the way through emerald hills and dales, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys below the Annapurna massif exploring into the typical village of Magars and Gurungs along with their cultures and age old traditions.

Ghorepani Poon hill Trek starts from the mid hill of Pothana taking you all the way through the Modi Khola valley surrounded by Annapurna massif into the elevation of 3,190 meter to the Poon hill. Poon Hill is located just 400 meters above Ghorepani and offers a brilliant 360 degree view of the Himalayan massifs including Dhaulagiri range and Annapurna range. The most incredible things is, from this hill you are able to see more than 30 different white mountain peaks, including two eight thousand mountain ( Mt. Dhaulagiri (8163m.) and Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.). On clear days, even the Pokhara valley can be seen. Short, easily accessible and a fairly accessible and a fairly easy trek, the Ghorepani trail is a perfect starter for someone who isn't sure of his walking capabilities, or only has a few days available and wishes to discover a lot.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kathmandu

  From Kathmandu we drive to Pokhara which will take about 5 to 6 hours or fly via 35 minutes of our mountain flight. Overnight in Pokhara Hotel.

• Day 2 : Phedi

  Drive from Pokhara to Phedi. We start our trek from Phedi and ascend up towards Pothana (1660m).

• Day 3 : Landrung

  We trek from Pothana to Landrung (1646m.) We walk downwards to Modi river and ascend to Landrung - a beautiful Gurung village and have lunch at Tolkha. Overnight at Landrung.

• Day 4 : Chumrung

  Landrung to Chumrung (2079m.) a village lying t the base of Himchuli (6,441m.). Trek from Landrung to Chumrung (2079m.) which will take 6 hours of walk with ups and downs from Landrung which is the biggest Gurung settlement which offer a closer view of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli

• Day 5 : Tadapani

  We trek from Chumrung to Tadapani (2400m.). We descend a little down towards the Kimrung Khola and again ascend up towards Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 6 : Ghorepani

  We Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani (2855m) which will take 8 hours of walking.

• Day 7 : Tirkhedhunga

  We trek from Ghorepani to Tirkhedhunga (1570m.) via Poon hill climb (3200m.) and have Excursion to the Poon Hill The highest hill in the west in the whole trek, bird- eye view of Mustang and Pokhara valleys, also provides clear view of 30 snow-capped peaks including the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri

• Day 8 : Birethanti

  We then trek down from Tirkhedhunga to Birethanti (1160m.) and drive from Birethanti to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara Hotel.

• Day 9 : Kathmandu

  We Drive/fly back to Kathmandu or visit Chitwan National Park or Make River rafting trip in Trishuli river/Kaligandaki river or have a rest day in Pokhara as per time permit and your wish.
