Trekking Ghorepani Poonhill is a brief and captivating trip to Ghorepani Poonhill that provides breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Annapurnas. This short hiking venture is the most renowned trek in Annapurna region for its gripping views of sensational landscapes & the sunrise & sunsets we get to see hereabouts. The trek begins and ends in sublime Pokhara.
For trekkers seeking natural beauty and enthralling experiences, Ghorepani Poonhill will always be the number one option as the trek offers stunning sceneries, varied culture and ideal accommodation facilities. The exciting trek requires an average level of physical fitness so even children above 10 years old will be able to enjoy it. The trek begins after a scenic drive of 200km or a 25 minutes exciting flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. You can go for boating on the Phewa Lake & warm up with an enjoyable hike to Sarangkot hill for once-in-a-lifetime sunrise or sunset scenes in Pokhara, a lovely hub for some of the most blitzing treks on the planet with serene lakes and mystifying caves.
Ghorepani Poonhill Trek begins with a ride to Nayapul in a private coach. We trek though lovely villages and irrigated farmland as we cross an airy suspension bridge over Modhi Khola River and across green forest to Ghorepani village at (2800m). The next day we trek to Poonhill (3210m) early in the morning to experience the awe-inspiring vistas of gigantic Annapurna ranges including some prime mountain peaks over 8000m. The magnificent sunrise from Poonhill will be one of the overwhelming moments in the trek.
Ghorepani is an interesting village with good accommodations and beautiful rhododendron woods. The route from the village leads you towards Jomsom Muktinath in the north and Annapurna Base camp in the east. We continue our trek moving to the east of the village towards Tadapani & then to Ghandruk, one of the biggest Gurung villages on the foothills of Annapurna south. It is very popular for classical houses and culture as well as its picturesque location below fishtail mountain. Our trek wraps up as we descend down to Birethanti for our drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. Alternatively, we can lengthen our trip for two more days as we can hike across Pothana village to Dhampus village and finally to Phedi. Then we return to Pokhara with a half an hour cruise by bus to Pokhara to wander down by the waterline of Phewa Lake.Sightseeing or any extra activities except the above program

Day 1 : Arrival At Kathmandu Airport (1350meters).
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will meet one of our trek leaders who will be standing in front of the arrival terminal with colorful garlands to welcome you. You will be transferred to your hotel; & the rest of the day is free to relax around. In the evening one of our team leaders will come to see you and take you for a welcome dinner at a typical Nepali Restaurant. We enjoy the local meal with some interesting conversation and short briefs about your Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. Overnight at hotel
Day 2 : Drive or Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (925m), Drive Six Hours or Flight 25 Minutes
After an early breakfast, we depart for six hours drive to Pokhara (925m,), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As we climb out of the Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, we follow upstream to its junction with the Marshyangdi River. We follow the Marshyandi River gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes us directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. We can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with its beauty. We can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes. Day 3 : Drive to Nayapul (1050m) and Trek to Ulleri (2100m), Drive 2 Hours, Trek 6 Hours
After early breakfast at hotel in Pokhara, we take a 2 hour scenic drive to Nayapul from where our trek really begins. We walk via Birethanti (1065m) to Ulleri (2100m) which takes about six hours. The first part of our trek is easy passing through numerous small villages and settlements. Afterwards we ascend gently to the final destination of the day. The majority of people here are Gurung and Magar and their religion is Buddhist. They are engaged in agricultural activities, tourism business and some in Gorkha and Indian regiments. Day 4 : Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2800m), Walking 6 Hours.
After breakfast at guest house in Ulleri, we start our pleasant hike from Ulleri via Banthanti to Ghorepani village. On the way, we can see good views of Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail 6997m), Huinchuli (6441m), and Annapurna south (7219m). Now, our trail is quite easier passing through forest and descends gently up to the final camp. We can see some of the wildlife such as monkeys and various species of birds. Day 5 : Early Hike to Poon Hill (3210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2650m), Walking 7 Hours.
In the early morning we hike for one and half hour to Poon Hill (3210m) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Varaha Shikhar (7847m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Hike back to Ghorepani, enjoy breakfast at our guest house, we begin our trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2650m) through the deep forests of rhododendrons, bamboos and oaks. En-route, we frequently see waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, local birds and green sceneries. Tadapani is a small village surrounded by beautiful forests which grants us a magnificent view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, and Annapurna II and so on. Overnight at guest house
Day 6 : Trek from Tadapani (2650m) to Ghandruk (2000m), Walking 4 Hours
After breakfast, we begin with an easy day; today's trek is a cool walk by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. We can hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way. This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. Ghandruk is a large Gurung village. There is a handicraft centre and Gurung museum. From this village we can see good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail. Note: On the day 7 we can have two options, with option one, we can continue our trekking down to Berithanti (5 hours) and catch a private vehicle at Nayapul then drive to Pokhara OR, the second option would be we can extend our trek for two days walking through the Pothana village and Dhampus village to Dhampus Phedi and do a half an hour drive to Pokhara.
Day 7 : Trek from Ghandruk (2000m) to Pothana (1990m), Walking 6 Hours.
After breakfast, first part of our trek is steeply down following stone staircase to Kimbu (Bee hive). Kimbu or Bee hive is located at the elevation of 1200 meters on the bank of Modi Khola. Now, the trail steeply ascends following the stone staircase up to Landruk. The trail ascends gently for nearly two hours and again ascends steeply for an hour to Deurali (2150m) passing through Tolkha village (1850m). From this point we can see panoramic view of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Fishtail (6997m), Annapurna III (7755m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m) and Lamjung Himal (6930m). Now, the rest of the trail descends gently down to Pothana village (1900m). Overnight at guest house
Day 8 : Trek from Pothana to Dhampus Phedi, Drive to Pokhara, Walking 4 Hours, Drive 3o Minutes.
After breakfast, we leave Pothana on a pleasant trail to Dhampus Phedi, our trail descends gradually for at least an hour and follows a gravel road for two hours and then steeply descends to Phedi passing through Dhampus village; paddy fields and forest protected by local community. Upon our arrival at Dhampus Phedi, we take a private vehicle to reach Pokhara. Overnight at a comfortable hotel in Pokhara
Day 9 : Drive or Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu, Drive 6 Hours, Flight 25 Minutes, or Juggle Safari.
After breakfast, if you are interested in Jungle safari trip for 2 nights 3 days' jungle activities, we will transfer you into the tropical Chitwan National park. Or if you are coming to Kathmandu while driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, we head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En- route, we can enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe we climb up to Thankot, the gateway to the capital city. We can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes. In the evening, join a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with live culture show. Overnight at hotel
Day 10 : Final Departure from International Airport for Connecting Flight Home
