Experience a private city tour of Glasgow’s most famous landmarks and you will discover a history dating back to the 7th century when St Kentigern, ( St Mungo), established a small church on the grounds where the present Glasgow Cathedral stands today. Glasgow is renowned for it’s beautiful architecture and museums, a legacy left behind by Glasgow’s wealthy merchants during the industrial revolution of the 18th & 19th centuries. Visitors to Glasgow can now experience a city that has reinvented itself as a modern cosmopolitan city with a mix of Victorian and modern architecture combined with fantastic restaurants, pubs and a thriving music scene.
Tour Highlights
George Square
Glasgow Cathedral
Glasgow University
Loch Lomond
Glengoyne Distillery
This tour has been designed to introduce our guests to all the must-see sights around the city centre and west end of Glasgow. Combined with a tour to the beautiful “ Bonnie” banks of Loch Lomond, which can include a relaxed afternoon lunch at a traditional country inn serving locally sourced produce and, if in season, locally caught wild Haggis. After lunch we would then make our way to Glengoyne Distillery, often described as one of Scotland’s most picturesque distilleries and which has been producing single malt whiskies since 1833.
Highlights include-
George Square, located in the heart of Glasgow.
Glasgow City Chambers, ( photo stop) stunning example of Victorian architecture.
Glasgow Cathedral, the magnificent gothic cathedral built between the 13th-15th century.
The Necropolis, ( photo stop) the city of the dead.

My name is Ricky Henderson, a proud native Scot, born and bred in the west end of Glasgow. When I set up About Scotland Tours in 2010, it was with the sole purpose of providing our guests with a more flexible, relaxed and fun experience. We do not stick to rigid timetables like large coach tours, which gives our guests more time to explore Scotland’s historic castles, ancient neolithic sights and wee hidden gems.
For as long as I can remember ( around 30 years or so ) I have had a real passion for my country Scotland, learning our diverse cultures, ancient history and exploring the natural beauty of our spectacular landscapes and rugged mountain glens. I want to share it with you and introduce you to the very best of Scotland, you wouldn’t get to see with rigid bus tours. Read More...
