Day 1 : Arrive Guwahati - Shillong (120 km / approx. 3 hours drive) Glimpses of the North East
On arrival at the airport/railway station in Guwahati, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Shillong. Shillong became the first capital of the The state of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine-covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496 m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. We stop to visit the Umiam Lake is also known as 'Bara Pani' which is a vast and scenic reservoir surrounded by lush green hills. It is also a popular destination for water sports. On arrival, check in to the hotel in Shillong and after lunch visit- Shillong sightseeing options: 1. Ward’s Lake, 2. Shillong Peak, 3. Sweet Falls, 4. Lady Hyder Park Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 2 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee (120 km /approx. 4 hours drive to & fro)
After a hearty breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.) the wettest place in the world. We visit the beautiful and the tallest plunge waterfall in India known as Nohkalikai Falls. Enjoy the sight of water rushing down from 1,100 feet through the green forest into a deep waterhole which has unusually blue water like a lagoon. A short trek through some of the amazing terrain and watching a great variety of birds as we reach the entrance of Mawsmai Caves. This limestone caves have the distinction of being the only cave in Meghalaya that are lit enough to enable visitors to explore the natural formations in awe. Then, visit the Seven Sister Falls also known as 'Nohsngithiang Falls' is a seven segmented waterfall which plunges over the top of a limestone cliff. The view is spectacular which leaves one spellbound. Lastly, visit the Elephant Falls for some breathtaking views. A British officer named this falls owing to the presence of an elephant-shaped rock on one side of the falls. This rock was later destroyed due to an earthquake. At Elephanta Falls, one can get very close and enjoy its serenity. Post sightseeing, return to the hotel in Shillong.
Day 3 : Shillong to Mawlynnong-Dawki (156 km / approx. 5 hours drive to & fro)
Mawlynnong &Live Root Bridge (Private). After a sumptuous breakfast, we proceed to Shillong. En route, we stop to visit Mawlynnong which is a small village located at 90 km from Shillong near the Bangladesh border. The village is known for its cleanliness and has received international recognition as the cleanest village in Asia in the year 2003 and cleanest village in India in 2005. The total 95 households form this village have 100 per cent literacy. Mawlynnong looks more beautiful during the monsoons, with lush greenery and waterfalls making it a true delight of nature. The live root bridge is one of the interesting sights which you can spot in here.
Day 4 : Shillong to silchar (218 km/ 6.35 hrs)
After Breakfast you leave for Silchar which is a transit point for entering Agartala. This journey is one of the most spectacular experience you will remember for a lifetime due to the sheer beauty of the landscape. On arrival check at Hotel.
Day 5 : Silchar to Agartala (279km / 8.39 hrs)
After breakfast, you start early for Agartala. On the way enjoy the beautiful landscape of North East. After reaching check-in at the Hotel and rest for the day.
Day 6 : Agartala Tour
LOCAL SIGHTSEEING OF AGARTALA (The major the interest of the town is the Ujjayanta Palace, which was built in the Indo-Saracenic style in 1901 by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya. Sepahijala wildlife sanctuary, Kamala Sagar. Situated about 55 km from Agartala is Neermahal, Tripura's major tourist attraction. It is a summer resort built in the middle of a lake named Rudrasagar, with a total area of about 5.35 sq. km. It is the only lake palace in Eastern India and has been built in a mixture of Hindu and Mughal styles.
Day 7 : Agartala to Silchar (286km / 8.33hrs)
You leave for Silchar which is a transit point for entering Aizwal. On arrival check at Hotel.
Day 8 : Silchar to Aizwal (172km / 6.13hrs)
AIZAWL by flight ( the scenic capital of Mizoram, is a religious and cultural center of the Mizos. The town is blessed with exotic natural beauty and is famous for its handicrafts. It is an ideal hill station for tourists looking for solitude and clean air ). On arrival transfer to Tourist Lodge
Day 9 : Aizwal Tour
Sightseeing of Aizawl town which will include the visit to the State Museum (This museum is situated at Mc Donald Hill in the town centre. Open Monday - Friday from 9:00 A.M to 5 PM. Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM. Though small, it has an interesting collection of historical relics, ancient costumes and traditional implements), Bara Bazar( This is the main shopping centre with stalls selling garments and other commodities. )Big Drum of Aizawl and Model Village at Falkawn. Overnight Aizawl.
Day 10 : Aizwal Departure
Today after breakfast and at your scheduled time you are dropped at the Airport.
