Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Manali - Jispa

  From Manali we will leave early morning at 5.00 am, Crossing Rohtang is always been a challenge and due to heavy tourist season we will try crossing Rohatang at early hours. We drive across the Rohtang pass to Jispa, a small village on the banks of Bhaga River (a tributary of Chenab) in Lahaul region. This is the best place to acclimatization yourself to high altitude. On our way to Jispa, we will be refuelling at Tandi which is the last fuel station before Leh. The overnight stay will be at the Hotel, located on the banks of the Bhaga.

• Day 2 : Jispa - Leh

  It's going to be a long day and we will leave from Hotel at 5.30 am. The road beyond Jispa follows the picturesque Bhaga river across Baralacha La pass. And Sarchu. Sarchu is on the Himachal Pradesh‐Jammu & Kashmir border. Enroute to Sarchu we will pass the Surajtal Lake. We will cross Zanskar range and Climb‐up the Gatta Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends carved into the mountainside and then pass Lachung La and Nakee La passes, Pang & More plains and the Tanglang La pass as well. Reach Leh late in the evening and rest.This is a rest day in Leh that can be used to soak in the rich local culture & heritage. After breakfast you can go for local sight seeing of Leh, the capital town of Ladakh. Visit Shey Palace, Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa and Leh Palace. You can also visit the “3 Idiots school” to show around to your kids. Relax and acclimatize fully.

• Day 3 : Leh ‐ Hundar

  From Leh we drive to Nubra Valley, the road to which passes through Khardung La Pass, which was once the highest motorable road in the world. Nubra valley, just south of Siachen glacier, separates the Ladakh & Karakoram ranges of Himalayas and is a high altitude desert with scant vegetation. Historically, this was an important trade centre with Central Asia & East Turkmenestan. In Hundar one can see people with startling blue eyes, auburn hair and rosy cheeks who according to local lore are descendents of a Greek tribe. Nubra is home to several 17th century Gompas including 132 year old Samstanling Gompa & Chamba Gompa. Diskit monastery located on a hill is the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra. Next to Hundar are several kilometers of sand dunes and one can enjoy a camel ride on the near extinct two humped Bactrian camels. Overnight stay at the campsite. Approximate driving day of 5 hours.

• Day 4 : Leh ‐ Hundar

• Day 5 : Hundar

  This day we will explore little more in Nubra valley. In the Morning visit Diksit Monastery. Come back and enjoy your personal time with family and kids. Post lunch you can join for a short drive towards the road going to Siachen or can just sit back and relax

• Day 6 : Hunder ‐ Leh

  We return from Hunder to Leh. Evening is free for shopping and sightseeing.

• Day 7 : Leh ‐ Pangong Tso Lake

  We will drive from Leh to Pangong Lake. Pangong is a saline water lake on the Line of Actual Control (60% of the lake is under Chinese control) between India & China. Overnight stay will be at a campsite. Approximate driving day of 6 hours. Explore the beauty of Pangong which means "exclusive cavity" or simply Hollow. Pangong Lake is bisected by the International border between China and India. It has an area of 780 Sq.Km divided between India and China. The glaciers and snow capped peaks in the Pangong range add to the scenic beauty of the Lake. Spend your evening at the Lake and return to the campsite as suns goes down. Enjoy your evening with bonfire and music under the stars.

• Day 8 : Pangong Tso ‐ Leh

  (25 th June) We return from Pangong Tso to Leh. In the evening we will enjoy a Cultural night at the hotel.

• Day 9 : Leh - Mulbekh

  Leave hotel after Breakfast around 0800 hrs and start your journey towards Srinagar. Visit Famous Pathar sahib Gurudwara, Magnetic hills before saying goodbye to Leh city. You will climb the 18 hairpin Hangro loops to cross Fotu La, the highest point on the Leh-Srinagar highway and exit the Indus valley. Enroute, you will also pass the Lamayuru monastery. Overnight stay will be at Campsite at Shargol.

• Day 10 : Mulbekh - Srinagar

  (27th June) This day we will start early at 5.00 am as there are fixed timings to cross Zozila pass. This challenging pass opens one way and there are set time slots to cross the pass. Our Timings to cross Drass is 4.30 am- 8.30 am. Drass is 2 hours drive from our campsite. This day you will drive across Kargil & Drass towards Srinagar. You will cross the Zojila pass and several hills like Tiger hill which came into public consciousness as a result of the Kargill war. Reach Srinagar by the Lunch time after stopping over in Sonmarg for brekfast. In the evening Shikara ride on The Dal Lake / Nagin Lake to enjoy the beauty that God has graced this city with which is often compared to Venice. You will get a view of some very interesting Places around the Lake. Dinner & Overnight stay at Srinagar

  • Hotspots : Nagin Lake, Dal Lake

• Day 11 : Srinagar

  After breakfast take the half day tour of world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). Visit the Markets in the evening.

• Day 12 : Srinagar - Pathankot

  ( 29th June )Pathankot is the best place to take a night halt while traveling from Srinagar to Chandigarh or Delhi after 9 -10 hours of highway driving reach Pathankot and rest for the day. You can also drive back to your destinations if you wish to drive more!!!

• Day 13 : Pathankot - Chandigarh - Delhi

  After breakfast we will leave for Chandigarh/ Delhi Time to get back home with lots and lots of memories and with new Go Boundless family and lifetime friends.
