You'll be driven to Murudeshwar temple located in Murudeshwara beach. The prime attraction of this beach town is its Shiva temple. A famous landmark here is the world’s second tallest Shiva statue. Later visit to Gokarna on arrival visit The Mahabaleshwara temple, is one of the major temples. Later visit to Kudle beach and Om beach, so named because it’s shaped like the auspicious ‘Om’ symbol.

Day wise Itinerary

  Murudeshwar temple - The Beach Temple of Murudeshwara towers on a small hill called Kanduka Giri, surrounded by the Arabian Sea on three sides. One can see two life-size elephants at the temple steps. On going up the hillock, there is a shrine of Jattiga seated on a horse. The 20-storied, 249 feet tall Raja Gopura is considered the tallest gopuram in the world. A huge fort called Murudeshwara Fort, present behind the temple, is said to have been renovated by King Tippu Sultan of Mysore. Murudeshwar Temple has many carvings and statues that date back to a few centuries. Few inscriptions are also found in the temple. The Chalukya and Kadamba sculptures found in the temple are designed in the Dravidian style. A Nataraja statue made of bell metal is also seen outside the Murudeshwar Beach Temple.
  Murudeshwar beach - Murudeshwara Beach, situated between Bhatkal and Honnavar, is one of the prominent attractions of Murudeshwara. From the beach, travellers can view the huge statue of Shiva. The beach is visited for Murudeshwara Temple, which is situated at a distance of a kilometre. The beach is surrounded by Arabian Sea to the west and hills to the east. Travellers can indulge in swimming, fishing and sunbathing at this beach. Moreover, family boat ride or mechanised boat rides are also available. The beach is an ideal location to enjoy the beautiful views of sunrise and sunset.
  Mahabaleshwar temple - Mahabaleshwar Temple is one important pilgrimage site for the Hindus but it is not just limited to that. People from many sects visit this place in Gokarna. The temple is beside Arabian Sea and is surrounded by hills. The scenic beauty of this place enthralls everyone. A Shiva Linga known as the Atma Linga is worshipped in this Mahabaleshwar temple. Built using white granite, it is a classic example of the beauty of Dravidian architecture. 1500 years old carved stone Lord Shiva idol in the standing position represents the main deity.
  Kudle beach - Kudle beach is another picturesque beach in Gokarna, surrounded by hillocks and rocks. One can spend some time in the beach, relaxing in the lap of nature; get some breathtaking views of the sea. The beach is a paradise for those who love peace and quiet while they travel. Many local people prefer this beach for a morning or evening walk or practising yoga, as the Kudle beach is not invaded by large groups of tourists and as a result, has very little crowd and quite noiseless. The beach is usually deserted, except for the peak months from November to February, when foreign travelers and backpackers populate it.
  Om Beach - Om Beach is shaped as two semi crescents joined together forming the shape of Om (Hindu Symbol) hence the name Om beach. The beach has a breathtaking view of the sunset.  For someone who loves the beach, Om beach is a must visit. The long stretch of white sandy beach adjoining the rocky terrain is excellent and appealing to the eyes. The beach is not always crowded yet for those who love to spend their precious lone time can find the place to be a blessing.
