Day 1 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival at the New Delhi Airport / Railway Station, we transfer you to your hotel. India's
capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which
successfully combines in its fold the ancient and the modern. One of the most historic capitals in
the world, Delhi is a treasure trove that reveals the ultimate combination of tradition and
trends. Day is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi
After breakfast, enjoy a combined full day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi commencing with a
guided city tour of the Old City of 'Shahjahanabad'. Your introduction to the city will be with a
visit to Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana ‐ The cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal
Nehru (India's first Prime Minister). Proceed to the Red Fort ‐ The magical monument in red
sandstone. From here, you continue your tour, in rickshaws, through the bustling streets to
Jama Masjid ‐ The largest mosque in Asia built by Shahjahan and Chandni Chowk ‐ An old and
busy market. After lunch, at the hotel or any restaurant, (Lunch is at your own expense) you will
visit New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. You visit Qutab Minar ‐ A victory
tower built by Qutub‐ud‐din Aibek in 1199 from sandstone and marble. It is a masterpiece of
perfect proportions and the tallest stone tower in India; Humayun's Tomb ‐ The first great
example of a new distinctive style, which developed Taj Mahal, Agra to become the hallmark of
the Mughal Dynasty and the Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu Temple. The tour also
includes a drive past the imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch); the Parliament House, the
Rashtrapathi Bhawan (The President's Residence) and Government Secretariat Buildings.
Evening is free for shopping in and around Connaught Place. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 : Delhi‐ Agra
After breakfast, you check out of t he hotel and drive to Agra. Enroute visit Akbar's mausoleum
at Sikandra, the sandstone and marble tomb. Akbar started its construction himself, blending
Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Christian motifs and styles. On arrival in Agra, you check into
your hotel. The city of Agra, the quintessence of the grand Mughal era, reigns to this day in the
public mind as the embodiment of royal grace, imposing architecture and power. Agra is globally
renowned as the city of the Taj Mahal. In addition to the legendary Taj, it has many monuments
that epitomise the high point of Mughal architecture. This afternoon proceed on a city tour of
Agra visiting the Agra Fort ‐ An outstanding example of Mughal architecture and the seat and
the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. Behind its forbidding red
sandstone, battlements lie palaces that tell the story of the Moghul Empire. The most
impressive part of the Fort is the Dewaan‐e‐Am, where the Emperor sat on his throne to
dispense to his subjects, and the Dewan‐e‐Khas where he received foreign dignitaries. Continue
to the famous Taj Mahal: A poetry in white marble and precious stone, is a tribute to eternal
love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of the seven
wonders in the world and celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty.
Enjoy an exciting rickshaw ride to the gates of the majestic Taj. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays);
a brief visit to a marble inlay workshop, where you see the art that went into the inlay work
(Pietra Dura) at the Taj Mahal. Lastly, visit Itmad‐ud‐daulah ‐ The tomb Queen Nur Jehan's
father, is a two storied marble tomb bearing mosaics with semi‐precious stones. Evening is at
leisure for shopping. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 : Agra ‐ Jaipur
After an early breakfast, you will checkout of the hotel. Depart by road for Jaipur. Enroute visit
Akbar's abandoned capital‐ Fatehpur Sikri ‐ Built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569, in honour
of the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. It was the Mughal capital for 14 years but later abandoned
due to paucity of water. Made of red sandstone, it combines influences from both Hindu and
Mughal architecture. It's glorious courtyards and palaces conjure up dreams of the mysterious
past. Bulund Darwaza, the victory gate looms 134 feet high. Visit the imperial Jami Masjid, the
tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti who predicted the birth of Akbar's son Jehangir, the Panch Mahal, a
5‐storey, a courtyard, which was the Hall of Public Audience and the Pachchisi, paved with black
and white tiles where the Emperor played chess using humans as figurines. Continue your drive
to Jaipur. On arrival, you will check into your hotel. The vibrant capital or 'Pink City' is renowned
for its forts and palaces. Jaipur is not only the gateway to the state; it is also the most natural
place to begin a discovery of Rajasthan's multifaceted attractions. An ideal base for touring the
royal state, the city has the distinction of being the third jewel of India's 'Golden Triangle'.
Afternoon is at leisure explore this city on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 : Jaipur
After breakfast, you will proceed on a full day excursion commencing with a photo stop at the
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) ‐ A five‐storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and
overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. Continue to the ancient capital of
Amer to see the fabulous Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur city. Ascend by
jeeps to the fort where you will tour the chambers and hallways of the palace, famous for the
excellence of its design and decoration. Following your visit to Amber, enjoy a tour of the Pink City, an 'abode of kings'. The highlights include a visit to the City Palace ‐The former royal
residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. An overwhelming complex of
exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways, the Palace also
houses a museum. Continue to the awe inspiring Jantar Mantar Observatory ‐ A stone
astrological and astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century.
Evening is free for shopping in the colorful bazaars. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 : Depart Jaipur
After breakfast, you check out of the hotel. Transfer to New Delhi / Jaipur Airport / Railway
Station to depart for your onward destination.
