Day 1 : Athens
Welcome to Athens! You are met at the airport by our friendly representative and transferred to your hotel where there is time to settle in and relax. Athens offers a unique mix, combining rich archaeological sites, plenty of places with panoramic views and, of course, a very vivid contemporary cultural life in the fields ofthe performing arts, music and visual arts, as well as the worldwide famous entertaining nightlife. Give the chance to yourself to enjoy some of these pleasures at your first contact with the city. Overnight at Athens.
Day 2 : Delphi / Kalambaka
After breakfast pick up for a special day tour in Delphi . Upon arrival in Delphi we’ll visit Castalia Spring and the main archaeological site the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Theatre, the Stadium and the Museum with the famous statue of Antinoos and the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer . Enjoy a break for lunch in town and then relax on your afternoon journey through central Greece. Gaze out of your window as you cross the Thessalian plains, passing the pretty towns of Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala, and then arrive at your Kalambaka hotel in the early evening. Dinner in your hotel and overnight stay at Kalambaka.
Day 3 : Meteora / Athens
Savor breakfast in your hotel, and then travel to Meteora. The UNESCO World Heritage site is home to more than 20 rock monasteries, either perched precariously on top of Meteora’s towering sandstone cliffs or built into the cliffs themselves inside naturally formed caves. In the 4 hour travel back to Athens you will have the opportunity to stop in the coastal town of Thermopylae, near Lamia and while learning about Thermoplylae’s historical battle between the Greek Spartans and Persians. Arrival in Athens will be early in the afternoon where you will have time to relax. Overnight at Athens.
Day 4 : Athens – Mykonos
After Breakfast , Our expert guides will help you to explore the treasures of Athens during your morning sightseeing tour. Your tour will be followed by a visit to Acropolis, the ancient fortified town of Athens, dating back to the Late Bronze Age, the most famous landmark of entire Greece, the eternal symbol of democracy, education and inspiration. Your tour will end with the visit to the impressive Acropolis Museum, one of the most important contemporary works of architecture in Athens that houses 4,000 priceless finds from the Acropolis monuments that represent its history and function as the most important religious centre of ancient Athens. Afternoon transfer to Rafina port to embark the ferry to Mykonos (17:30 -22:10) Arrival and transfer to hotel . Overnight at Mykonos.
Day 5 : Mykonos
Mykonos is the most famous island in Greece and, with no doubt the most cosmopolitan of the Cycladic islands. It has unique beauties with archeological, natural, recreational and traditional facets. Take the chance to explore every path of the island with the all white-washed cubic houses with blue windows, charming narrow streets with pebble-stoned pavements and little white chapels with sky-blue cupolas and the famous Windmills. A walk through Chora, the old port, “Little Venice”and the Castle would be an amazing first contact with the island. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the tiny archaeological gem of Delos, just a short boat trip away. Delos was a sacred island in ancient times, and according to mythology was the birthplace of the twin gods Apollo and Artemis. It is a MUST to treat yourself to some local Aegean specialties! Pepper flavoured kopanistí, a soft cheese seasoned with pepper, is the island’s gastronomic trademark. Overnight at Mykonos.
Day 6 : Mykonos / Athens
Morning at leisure you can visit the archaeological museum of Mykonos which is located in Mykonos town next to the harbour and is home to marble sculptures, ceramics, jewels and utensils, all findings from the excavations in Delos, Rhinia and Mykonos itself. Or alternatively you can have a visit to the Paraportiani Church which is one of the most interesting architectural structures in Greece, located near Mykonos harbour entrance. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the port to embark the ferry to Piraeus port (14:15-20:00). Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Athens. Overnight at Athens.
Day 7 : Athens/ Airport
According to your flight departure time, you will be transferred to Athens airport to get the flight back carrying in your ´´luggage´´ the wonderful memories of Greek Attractions.
