Package Overview

Daman and Diu, a union territory in west India, consists of 2 separate areas divided by the Arabian Sea. The Daman Ganga River flows through the coastal town of Daman. Diu is a small island and mainland village. The Fort of Moti Daman, Diu Fort and 16th-century churches reflect the territory’s past as a Portuguese colony. In the town of Moti Daman, the Basilica of Bom Jesus Church is known for its gilt altarpiece.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive in Ahmedabad – Dwarka

  On arrival in Ahmedabad in the morning, drive to Dwarka, where you will check in at the hotel and spend the day at leisure. During your leisure time, you may opt to visit Sudama Setu, Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Dunny Point and Dwarka Lighthouse (leisure activities are not included in the package). Then attend the evening aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple before retreating for the night.

• Day 2 : Dwarka Sightseeing

  Go on a sightseeing tour of Dwarka on this day and cover important attractions like Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, Gopi Talav and Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Mandir. The island of Bet Dwarka is situated about 30 km from Dwarka and surrounded by sea from all sides. It houses various temples of Lord Vishnu, Devaki, Radha, Jambavati, Satyabhama and Lakshmi, along with a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna that is said to be more than 500 years old. Also visit Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiv Purana that attracts thousands of pilgrims all through the year. It is believed that people who pray to the Nageshwar Linga become free of poison. Furthermore, visit Gopi Talav (the place where Lord Krishna played with his Gopikas) and Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Madir (located in the middle of the sea, with Chandra-Mouliswar Shiva as the deity presiding at the core of the temple).

• Day 3 : Dwarka - Porbandar – Somnath

  Early morning attend morning Aarti (optional) at Dwaka Dheesh Temple, later after breakfast leave for Somnath- which is about 5 hours away. En-route visit Porbander-the Birth Place of Mahatma Gandhi.
  In Somnath, visit the renowned Somnath Temple. It is suggested that you attend the evening Aarti and witness the spectacular 'sound and light show' in the temple premises (own expense) Somnath Temple premises. Overnight stay at Somnath/ Veraval.

• Day 4 : Somnath to Sasan Gir

  Today after breakfast proceed to world famous Gir National Park-The home of the Great Asiatic Lion. Check into your hotel and later enjoy an exciting Jungle Safari (own expense) in Gir National Park to catch a glimpse of the Asiatic Lions, Leopards, Spotted Deers, and various species of Birds. Overnight at Somnath.
  *The protected area of Gir National Park is closed from 16th June to 15th October every year and Safari's will not be possible during this period

• Day 5 : Somnath to Diu

  In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Diu.On arrival to Diu and You can start with Nagoa Beach, which is located in the Bucharwada village is known for its serene and peaceful ambience. You can swim or play water sports in the turquoise waters of the Arabian Sea. The face of Jalandhar – a mythological demon – carved in a stone can be seen at Jallandhar Beach, located at a short distance from the town. It is believed that the Lord Krishna killed this demon at this spot. You can also visit the Gangeshwar Temple, located in the cave temple. It is said that Shivalingas at this cave have mystic powers and god makes his presence felt.
  Later in the evening, come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

• Day 6 : Diu to Ahmedabad

  Today morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and get a transfer to the Ahmedabad airport/railway station for your return journey.
