Day 1 : Arrival in Ahmedabad
After arriving at the Ahmedabad, you will be taken to your pre-booked hotel. After your check-in, rest up with your family or friends for a while. Kick-start your tour with a visit to Siddi Saiyed Mosque - An ancient marvel, Sidi Sayeed Mosque is one of the last mosques that was built in Ahmedabad under the Gujarat Sultanate Famous for its structure and archways, the mosque boasts of 10 semi-circular intricate latticework windows. The finely carved windows depict intertwined tree branches and palm motif making it look like a delicate filigree lacework. The most famous jail work is the Tree of Life, a distinguished symbol and the official logo to IIM Ahmedabad. The craftsmanship of this splendid architecture makes it a popular attraction among tourists. It is suggested to dress modestly while visiting the mosque. Sabarmati Ashram - Located on the banks of Sabarmati River, It is popularly known as Satyagraha Ashram as Mahatma Gandhi led the famous Salt Satyagraha from here. Today the ashram is established as a national monument by the government. Akshardham Temple - The temple is also known for its light, sound and water show takes place in the evening. Photography is not allowed inside the temple and visitors are also suggested to dress modestly. Do note that the temple remains closed for visitors on Monday. Also, it is respectful and polite to dress more conservatively - shoulders, navel, upper arms and legs (till knees) should be covered.
Day 2 : Ahmedabad to Bhuj
After enjoying breakfast at the Hotel in Ahmedabad, pack your bags to check out of the hotel. Ahmedabad to Bhuj transfer. After arriving at the Bhuj check-in, rest up with your family or friends for a while, in evening nourish in street shopping. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 3 : Bhuj
After breakfast in the hotel, proceed for sightseeing, which includes Aaina Mahal - a grand two-story mansion The main areas to see in Aina Mahal include the Audience Hall, the Hall of Mirrors and the Hira Mahal. The floors are laid with blue delftware tiles that were produced locally, while the walls of the Hira Mahal are covered with 27 ornate full-length mirrors. It is probably the profusion of glass and mirror work in the mansion that gave it this name. Prag Mahal - Designed by Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins and commissioned by King Pragmalji in the 1860s, it bears an Italian Gothic style with a 45metre high bell tower. The bell tower here is said to be the second-highest in India, and visitors can climb the stairs up to the top to get a panoramic view of the entire Bhuj city. Chatardi - or "Royal Umbrellas" is the stone canopies constructed by the rulers of Bhuj as memorials to their preceding dead kings. These red sandstone memorials were built around the 1770s and consist of pillars holding up carved domes. The structures were intricately carved with floral patterns as well as scenes depicting daily life. White Rann - The Great Rann of Kutch is a salt marsh in the Thar desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 4 : Bhuj to Jamnagar
Today post breakfast and explore Lakhota Museum, standing on an island in the middle of the Lakhota Lake, It now houses the Lakhota Museum, a popular attraction in Jamnagar. Its walls are decorated with frescoes depicting battles fought by the Jadeja Rajputs. The island museum can be reached from the shore by the north-side causeway. Lakhota Lake - Located in the heart of Jamnagar, Lakhota Lake or Lakhota Talav was constructed by King of Navanagar Jan Ranmal II in the mid-19th century. While taking a tour of the lake, visitors might spot various species like pelicans, flamingos, In the center of the lake on an island stands the Lakhota Palace tower, now known as the Lakhota Museum. Being situated in the middle of the city, Lakhota lake is easily accessible by public transport. Temples of Jamnagar - Owing to the presence of many temples, Jamnagar is often called Chhota Kashi (small Kashi). Amongst all the temples that can be seen here, the most famous is Bala- Hanuman, located on the southeast side of Ranmal Lake. Also, there are the Jain Temples like Raisi Shah’s temple and Vardhman Shah temple. Since this is a religious site, please dress appropriately for your visit. Bala Hanuman Temple - The Bala Hanuman Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, is the most famous temple of Jamnagar. Located on the peaceful shore of the Lakhota Lake, it houses the idols of Lord Hanuman as well as Lord Ram, Lord Lakshman, and Devi Sita. The temple is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the non-stop chanting of the Ram Dhun. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 5 : Jamnagar to Dwarka
After a delightful breakfast in the hotel go-ahead for a visit to Nageshwar Jyotirling Temple -The Nageshwar temple lies on the route between Dwarka and Beyt Dwarka, about an hour's drive from Dwarka city. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva and hence of great religious significance.
Rukmani Temple -The Rukmini Temple is located 2km away from the Shree Dwarkadhish Temple and is dedicated to Rukmini, consort of Lord Krishna. Since Rukmini was an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, it is believed that praying to her will invite peace and prosperity into life. It is standard practice for pilgrims visiting Shree Dwarkadhish Temple to follow this up with a visit to Rukmini Temple for blessings.
Day 6 : Dwarka to Somnath
After finishing breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full-day excursion to Dwarkadhish Temple - an important pilgrimage destination since it is one of the Four Dhams of the Hindu belief system. The Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka is dedicated to Lord Krishna, and the deity is worshipped here in the form of the King of Dwarka.
Somnath Temple - Shree Somnath Mahadev Temple is the first among the twelve Aadi Jyotirlingas in India and is believed to have been constructed originally in the 4th century AD. Located in Prabhas Patan in Gujarat, it is an important pilgrimage site, especially for Shiva devotees. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 7 : Somnath to Diu
After finishing breakfast at the hotel, gear up for a full-day excursion to Gangeshwar Temple located 2 km away from Diu Fort in Gujarat. It is a unique temple and exudes both divine energies as well as serenity. Since this is a religious site, please dress appropriately for your visit.
Panikotha Panikotha offers panoramic views of Diu Fort and the surrounding ocean and is a beautiful sight when illuminated at night. Legend has it that a secret passage used to connect Panikotha with the Diu Fort on the mainland, but that passage has never been found.
Diu Fort one of the most prominent tourist spots in Diu, and is also known as 'Praça de Diu'. The fort is skirted by the sea on three sides and offers a magnificent view. Several old cannons can still be seen on the ramparts, and a part of the fort still houses a running prison. We recommend that you carry water bottles, hats, and sunscreen while visiting the fort. It is easily accessible by public transport.
Churches in Diu The St Paul’s Church, Church of St Francis of Assisi and Church of St Thomas are to name a few, which were constructed between 15th-17th centuries AD. The St Francis of Assisi is the oldest one that is situated on a hilltop and overlooks the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 8 : Diu to Sasan Gir
After breakfast in the hotel proceed for the sightseeing, Gir National Park at Sasangir attracts droves of visitors every year, as it is the only park in India where the endangered Asiatic lions can be seen. Spread across 1,412 sq.km, the park is one of the oldest sanctuaries in India. Declared a National Park in 1975, Gir is home to about 523 lions as per the 2015 census. The Park is closed from mid-June to mid-October every year. Overnight stay in the hotel.
