Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Guwahati to Nameri - 245 kms; Drive time: 5.5 hours

    Pickup from Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station and drive to Nameri .O/n at Nameri or Bhalukpung. Situated in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas Nameri Tiger Reserve is one of the most scenic parks in all of India. This 200 sq. km park lies on the border of Assam and West Arunachal with the altitude varying between 80m and 300m. Most parts of Nameri are covered by Moist Mixed, Deciduous Forests and over 600 species of plants can be found in the area. It is the only place in India where one can see the highly endangered, White-winged Wood Duck, a resident of the dense tropical evergreen forest. is home to many other bird species like Sultan Tit, Ruby-cheeked Sunbird, Pin-tailed Green Pigeon, Common Merganser, Ibis Bill, Silver-breasted Broadbill, Oriental Hobby, Crow-billed Drongo, Maroon Oriole and many more wonderful birds. If lucky, one can see large congregations of Whreath & Great Pied Hornbills.

  • Day 2 : Nameri to Lama Camp - 110 kms; Drive time: 5 hours

    In the morning cross the river for a walk in the forest, to observe the rich avian life found in the park. After an early lunch proceed to Eaglenest Sanctuary. O/n at Lama Camp which is the first camp in the sanctuary Situated between an altitude of 500-3200m Eaglenest sanctuary in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh is one of the best birding destination in all of India. The forest type here varies from Temperate forests to high-altitude Bamboo plains to Tropical Rain forest. Birds like to be seen are Rufous-bellied hawk-eagle, northern goshawk, Pied Falconet, common hill-partridge, Temminck's Tragopan, Ward's Trogon, Ashy Wood-pigeon, Tawny Wood-Owl, Rufous-necked Hornbill, , Golden-throated Barbet, Crimson-breasted & Pale-headed Woodpecker, Grey-chinned Minivet, Maroon-backed accentor, Eye-browed Thrush, White-browed Shortwing, Blue-fronted Robin, Little Forktail, Golden & Rufous-breasted Bush-robin, Purple Cochoa, Grey-sided, Scaly & Black-faced Laughingthrush, Red-faced, Coral-billed & slender-billed scimitar-babbler

  • Day 3 : Lama Camp

    Full day birding around Lama camp and on the road to Sunderview if the road is open. Situated at picturesque location, this is the site around which Bugun Liochichla was discovered. The bird can be seen even on the backside of camp. Other birds seen in the area are;Beautiful Sibia, Bhutan, Chestnut-crowned, Spotted Laughingthrushes, Blue-fronted Redstart, Olive-backed Pipit, Green-tailed Sunbird, Yellow-browed and Black-spotted Yellow Tit, Rufous-winged Fulvetta

  • Day 4 : Lama Camp

    Excursion Lamacamp

  • Day 5 : Lama Camp to Nameri

    Leave early from Lama camp to reach Nameri by lunch. In the afternoon go for a trek in the forest for viewing birds. O/n at Nameri.

  • Day 6 : Nameri to Kaziranga - 85 kms; Drive time: 2 hours

    In the morning go rafting on the Jia Bhroli river to see Ibisbill and other water birds. Relax at the camp or go for a forest walk on a different trail. After lunch drive to Kaziranga. O/n at Kaziranga.

  • Day 7 : Kaziranga

    Circumscribed by the mighty Brahmaputra towards the North and East, and by the Mora Diphlu in the South, Kaziranga National Park is home to the largest population of the One Horned Rhinoceros in the world, as well as one of the highest density of tigers in a protected reserve. Other herbivores like the Wild Asiatic Water Buffalo, Eastern Swamp Deer, Hog Deer and Wild Boars are seen here in abundance. The park has treasures to offer to the avid birdwatcher as well, with many rare species in view like Pallas's Fish Eagle, Spotbilled Pelican, Lesser Adjutant, Swamp Francolin, Blue-bearded Bee-Eater, and Finn's Weaver. In the morning head out for a jeep safari in the Central Range of the park . The birds likey to be seen are Pallas Fish Eagle,Lesser Adjutant, Swamp Francolin, Spotbilled Pelican, Barheaded Goose, Grey headed Lapwing, Blacknecked Stork. After lunch go for a safari in the Western range of the park where concentration of Rhinos is very high, also you will mainly see grassland birds like Chestnut - capped Babbler, Blackfaced and Yellow Breasted Buntings over here. O/n at Kaziranga.

  • Day 8 : Kaziranga to Jorhat - 90 kms; Drive time: 2 hours

    Today go for a safari in the Eastern range (Agaratuli range)which is a great place for birding . This range includes nesting of the globally threatened Pallas's Fish Eagle and a colony of Spot-billed Pelicans. Many other woodland birds would be observed over here. After lunch drive to Jorhat. O/n at Jorhat

  • Day 9 : Jorhat to Dibrugharh

    Leave early in the morning to visit the Holloongapar Sancutary which was earlier called Gibbon Sanctuary. After lunch drive to Dibrugharh. O/n at Dibrugarh. This small sanctuary of 20 sq. kms is a forest island in the midst of tea gardens. Over here one can see six species of primates namely Hollock Gibbon, Assamese macaque , Pig-tailed macaque, Stump-tailed macaque, Rhesus macaque and Slow Loris.

  • Day 10 : Dibrugarh

    After breakfast drop to Dibrughar airport for return flight. Tour Ends.
