Guwahati - Shillong - Kaziranga Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guwahati ( Assam )

  Today arrive at Guwahati airport , received and then driven to Kamakhya Temple, visit the Holy temple and get blessing from Maa Kamakhya and then drive to Guwahati hotel, check in and evening if time permits we visit Srimanta Shankardeva Kalekshetra.
  
  Overnight in Guwahati

• Day 2 : Guwahati-Cherrapunjee (Meghalaya )

  Today after breakfast we will visit local sightseeing in Guwahati and later transferred to Cherrapunjee (165 kms / 05 hrs drive), reach Cherrapunjee and check into lodge/hotel and evening at leisure
  
  Overnight stay at hotel

• Day 3 : Cherrapunjee –Shillong (Meghalaya )

  Today after breakfast we will trek down to visit the Single Decker living Root bridge (03 hrs trek), later we will visit Mawsmai Cave, Nonkalikai Falls, Thankaram Park, Khrem Falls and Dentheleng Falls and then drive to Shillong (65 kms / 02 ½ hrs drive), reach Shillong
  
  Overnight in Shillong.

• Day 4 : Cherrapunjee – Mawllynnong- Shillong (Meghalaya)

  Today after breakfast we start our day for a day long excursion to Mawlynnong village (95 kms / 02 ½ hrs drive from Shillong), leave at 9:00 A.M. Reach Mawlynnong and explore the cleanest village in Asia, we will also experience the wonder of the Khasi war Tribes – The Single Decker living Root Bridge at Riwai village. Also experience the panoramic view of the Bangladesh from 85 ft high sky walk made of bamboo by the locals. After exploring the village we can drive to Dawki village (12 kms from the village), and go for a Boat ride in Umgot river bordering India and Bangladesh, also known as crystal clear lake. Back to Shillong
  
  Overnight in Shillong.

• Day 5 : Shillong (Meghalaya)

  Today after breakfast we will visit Cathedral of Marry, Ward’s Lake, Don Bosco Museum, Bara Bazar and Archery Field to witness the famous Traditional Archery Game of Meghalaya.
  
  Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Shillong.

• Day 6 : Shillong – Kaziranga Np ( Assam)

  Today after breakfast transferred to Kaziranga National Park (290 kms / 6 hrs drive), reach Kaziranga and check into hotel, evening at leisure.
  
  Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

• Day 7 : Kaziranga ( Assam)

  Today you will go for safaris and elephant ride inside the national park. Early morning go for an Elephant ride ( timing 5:00 AM/ 06:00 AM/ 7:00 AM) then return back to the lodge and after breakfast go for a Jeep Safari (timing 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM) for 03 hrs, after the safari come back to lodge. After lunch and refreshment go for another Jeep Safari in the Western/ Central range of the park (timing 2:00AM / 3:00 AM) for 02 ½ hrs ( also depending on the sunset as in winters the sun sets early in Northeast India), evening at leisure.
  
  Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

• Day 8 : Kaziranga-Majuli- Jorhat ( Assam )

  Today after an early breakfast we will drive to Nimatighat (03 ½ hrs drive), then we cross the mighty river Brahmaputra and reach Majuli – the center of Vaishnavaite culture, today we will explore the Satras (monasteries). Later cross the river and drive to Jorhat town,
  
  check into hotel and overnight stay.

• Day 9 : Jorhat-Kohima –Tophema (Nagaland )

  Today we will proceed to Touphema ( 256 kms/ 06 hrs drive), we will reach Kohima town and drive further to Touphema and check into Touphema Tourist Lodge, explore the local village
  
  Over night at hotel.

• Day 10 : Tophema-Kohima (Nagaland )

  Today after breakfast we will visit the local tribal villages of the Angami Tribes and later drive to Khoum, on reaching Kohima visit Kohima War memorial, Local markets, Museum ( if time permits) evening at leisure
  
  Over night at hotel.

• Day 11 : Kohima –Khonoma –Kohima (Nagaland )

  Today we will go for a full day excursion to Khonoma village (20 kms / 01 hr drive), explore the tribal village at Khonoma, and visit the Angami tribal house, evening drive back to Kohima
  
  Overnight in Kohima.

• Day 12 : Kohima –Tezpur (Assam )

  Today after breakfast we will drive to Tezpur ( 295 kms / 08 hrs drive), reach Tezpur and check into hotel, evening at leisure and refreshment.
  
  Overnight stay in Tezpur.

• Day 13 : Tezpur –Dirang-(Arunchal Pradesh )

  Today drive to Dirang (185 kms / 07 hrs drive), enroute we will visit the TIPI orchid Center and on reaching Dirang visit Dirang Monasteries, evening at leisure.
  
  overnight stay.

• Day 14 : Dirang –Tawang-(Arunchal Pradesh )

  Today after breakfast we will drive to Tawang (145 kms / 08 hrs drive), enroute sightseeing – Sela Pass, Jashwant Ghar, Jung Falls. Reach Tawang and check into hotel.
  
  Overnight in Tawang.

• Day 15 : Tawang (Arunchal Pradesh)

  Today visit Tawang War Memorial, Urgelling Monastery, Ani Gompa and after lunch we will drive to a Sherpa village (40 kms / 02 hrs drive), explore the village and drive back to Tawang.
  
  Evening at leisure and overnight stay.

• Day 16 : Tawang – Bomdila (Arunchal Pradesh )

  Drive back to Bomdila (195 kms / 09 hrs drive), reach Bomdila.
  
  Check into hotel

• Day 17 : Bomdila – Nameri (Assam )

  Today after breakfast we will drive to visit the Rupa Monastry ( 20 kms ) and further to Chillipum Monastry, explore the villages enroute and then we will proceed to the plains of Assam and reach Nameri, check into Eco Camp
  
  Overnight stay at Nameri

• Day 18 : Nameri – Guwahati ( Assam )

  Today after breakfast we will drive to Guwahati via Mangaldai, enroute we will visit the local sightseeing in Tezpur, the ruins of ban Dynasty, Madan Kamdev and also the famous Silk Weaving village of Assam Sualkuchi, Check into hotel in Guwahati
  
  check into hotel and overnight stay at Guwahati.

• Day 19 : Guwahati ( Assam )

  Drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination.
