Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Guwahati from Kolkata

  Received and transfer to Landmark Hotels. Evening visit the Shankardev Kalashetra - a cultural centre with a fine desposition of the life and culture of the people of Assam. Visit the local market. Stay overnight.
• Day 2 : Guwahati

  Full day at Guwahati visiting the Kamakhya Temple on the Nilachal Hills, the silk weaving centre at Sualkuchi and famous for the golden silk of Assam, Hajo which is a religious centre for the Hindus, Muslims and the Buddhist. Return to Guwahati in the evening and stay overnight at the hotel.
• Day 3 : After breakfast drive to kaziranga (220kms/5hrs)

  Reach in the afternoon and check in at Landmark Woods - a jungle resort. Enjoy a jeep safari in the western range of the national park. Overnight.

• Day 4 : Majuli

  After early breakfast drive to Majuli. The distance to the river front through the town of Jorhat will take approx. 120kms/3hrs before we board a ferry to the island in the midst of the mighty Brahmaputra river. The cruise by ferry to the island will take approx. 2hrs. Reach in the afternoon and check in at the Prashanti tourist lodge (basic). Later visit the Monastery and interact with the inmates to know their culture and lifestyle. Visit the museum. Stay overnight.

• Day 5 : Mishmi tribe

  Forenoon visit tribal villages of the Mishmi tribe - the predominant tribe of the island. Depart for the mainland in the afternoon and drive back to Kaziranga to reach in the evening. Overnight at Landmark Woods.
• Day 6 : Shillong

  Early morning at 05.30 AM enjoy an elephant safari in the central range of the park. Return to the resort and after breakfast depart for Shillong (320kms/7hrs) - lunch enroute at a wayside amenity. Reach Shillong late in the afternoon. Evening visit the local market and stay overnight at Landmark Hills Victoria.

• Day 7 : Cherrapunjee

  excursion visit to Cherrapunjee (56kms/2hrs) - sightseeing at Cherrapunjee visiting the Mawsmai caves, the waterfalls and the local market. Before returning to Shillong enroute visit the Shillong Peak and the Elephant Falls. Reach Shillong in the evening and stay overnight at the hotel.
• Day 8 : Guwahati

  Forenoon visit the museum, the ward's lake and the catholic cathedral before departing for Guwahati in the late afternoon (110kms/3hrs). Reach in the evening and stay overnight at Landmark Hotels.
• Day 9 : Departure

  Morning departure transfer to the airport to board flight to onward destination.
