The Hampta Pass trek connects two dramatically different valleys, and offers you a chance to explore both. On the Kullu valley side, the landscape is lush green, with apple trees and pine forests, streams and waterfalls, but as soon as you cross the pass, the land becomes arid and coloured in stark browns and greys, with vertical rock walls. Most treks to Hampta Pass include a visit to the turquoise Chandratal Lake, which is a stunning sight.

This trek is moderately challenging, but has some steep sections. It is suitable for fit beginners or for experienced trekkers looking for a fun trek. It offers you all the best Himachal trekking experiences, from verdant pastures, open meadows with fragrant sweet grass, grazing herds of sheep, friendly shepherds, to waterfalls, sparkling streams, and campsites under the stars. You'll trek from Manali to Hampta Pass, camping en route, and end with a visit to the fantastic Chandratal Lake, a high altitude glacial lake with blue, blue water.
