Trekking through this eternal beauty is the best experiences which are rewarded with mesmerizing views of the Himalayan glaciers, dense alpine forests, ridges, ancient temples, caves and settlements at high altitude. Har Ki Doon, the cradle shaped valley shares its history with the age of the Mahabharata. It lies in Uttarakhand’s Garwhal region at an altitude of 3666mts.

It is the simplest trek for the beginners. This moderate trek takes you to the most unexplored regions of Garhwal Himalayas. Har ki Doon is a paradise for nature lovers as well as bird watchers. The Alpine forests are rich in wildlife. The view of the snowcapped mountain peaks are captivating and mesmerizing. The panoramic view of these snowcapped mountain peaks lures everyone. Also known as “Valley of Gods”, the natural beauty of this place is unmatched.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (6450ft)

  After arrival in Dehradun we will depart to Sankri. A little sleepy hamlet lost in the wilderness of metro cities, Sankri will be our first stopover. On the way to Sankri we will come across many small roadside restaurants offering simple but sumptuous and mouthwatering meals. The aroma of the freshly cooked meals will raise your hunger pangs and tempt your taste buds for sure. After the lunch we head straight towards our destination. We will reach Sankri in the late afternoon or by evening. The gigantic mountain ranges can be seen from here, and the beautiful sight of the sun setting is dreams come true. Overnight stay in guest house.
• Day 2 : Drive from Sankri to Taluka and Then Trek to Osla (8400ft)

  After having breakfast in Sankri, we will get ready for our first day of Har Ki Doon trek. There was practically no road from Sankri to Taluka, and the vehicle will rock like a boat in the high seas. We will pass couple of waterfalls, landslides and thick forests to finally reach Taluka. Few villages will appear as a film set, a mountain backdrop, a river flowing by the side, colorful trees, wooden buildings, and a cute little wooden bridge to the boot. Later we will cross the river Ton. A spectacular view of lush green vegetation wild orchids can be viewed. Arrive at the campsite by evening. The sky will look more beautiful with the moon showering pearls on mountain peaks. Overnight in tents or forest rest house. Overnight stay in tent.
• Day 3 : Trek from Osla to Har Ki Dun (11674ft)

  Pack your rucksack, sleeping bags and tents and after having the breakfast we start proceeding to our destination. This will be a day where you will view everything white. A day of frozen waterfalls and glimmering snow during winter months. A day of shining peaks and smiling faces. A day of utter bliss and pure satisfaction. You will experience as you are in another world. We have to walk a bit through slushy ice and snow. Towards the end of the trek for the day, there can be many snowy mountains. Nature’s beauty can be enjoyed at its best here. Overnight stay in tent.
• Day 4 : Trek from Har Ki Dun - Jaundhar Glacier - Har Ki Dun

  Morning will be greeted by chilly wind and white carpet of snow. A truly heavenly and peaceful place, for those wanting to spend some time by themselves! The deception of distances will prompt one to want to go right towards Swargarohini and Jumnar glacier or left towards Borasu pass as everything looks within a stone’s throw. Enjoy a landscape that already has an overdose of raw beauty. Overnight stay in tent.
• Day 5 : Trek from Har Ki Dun to Osla (8400ft)

  After some cherishing and memorable moments in Harkidoon, we will be traversing back towards Osla. Traverse through beautiful sights and landscapes along the way. The easy downhill trek to Osla covers around a total of 11km. On arriving Osla one can enjoy slurping noodles and sipping tea. Spend the night in the rest houses or tents provided. Overnight stay in tent.
• Day 6 : Trek from Osla to Sankri (6455ft)

  This will be our last day of the trek through steeper terrains. Same streams, forests waiting to welcome us back, stunning environs with sights of migratory birds disappearing in the snow-peaked mountains and many different flora and fauna species will be visible. Arrive at Sankri by evening and give your body some deserving rest. The trek ends here as the next day we will be heading to Dehradun. Overnight stay in guest house.
• Day 7 : Drive from Sankri to Dehradun and Then to Delhi

  After breakfast board the vehicle and start driving towards Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand! Upon arrival depart for Delhi by bus/train. Har Ki Dun trek ends here.
