Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Delhi

  Our representative will meet you at a location convenient to you in Delhi and transfer you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel of stay. Check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
• Day 2 : In Delhi

  After checking into our hotel we will have lunch and visit the Old Town and take a wander from the Red Fort, down Chandi Chowk - the old town's main thoroughfare - through the narrow alleyways of Shahjehanabad, to emerge at the beautiful Jama Masjid Mosque, from where we will go on to Connaught Place to see the New Town before dinner. Overnight at Hotel.
• Day 3 : Delhi - Agra

  After breakfast drive in a/c coaster to Agra. On arrival check in to our hotel and head to the Red Fort/Taj Mahal for sunset. Supper either at the hotel or out at local restaurant. at the hotel. The journey from Delhi to Agra is 5 hours. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 4 : Agra - Jaipur

  After breakfast, we'll drive out to Jaipur, on the way visiting the extraordinary deserted and barely damaged city of Fatehpur Sikri built by the great Mughal Akbar. In the late afternoon we will visit the Palace of Winds and Observatory with the local Bazaar. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 5 : In Jaipur

  Morning visit to the great palace at Amber and in the afternoon we'll return to town to visit the fascinating City Palace Museum built by the founder and namesake of the modern city Jai Singh II. Then there will be time for a wander round town or just relax at the hotel before supper. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 6 : Jaipur - Bundi

  After breakfast depart for Bundi, on a journey that will take 5 hours. Have lunch in town and then enjoy an orientation walk. Bundi is very small and is amongst one of the few cities in India that is still untouched by modernization. Bundi is famous for its bangle makers and brass pottery. Dinner on the terrace of the Palace restaurant. While dining we can see the small city of Bundi glimmering with lights below us. Overnight in Hotel.
• Day 7 : In Bundi

  After breakfast we will visit the famous palace complex, after which we will visit a Brahmin family where we will have a cooking demonstration. After lunch we will visit the Kipling palace, the royal cenotaphs and Rameshwaram Mahadev Temple, a Shiva temple with a waterfall. This is a beautiful picnic spot for the local people and we will see them enjoying themselves under the waterfall and all around the temple complex.

• Day 8 : Bundi - Jahalwar

  From here we will leave for Jhalawar. If we are lucky we will take a route that will show you what monsoon does to this part of Rajasthan (due to heavy rainfall the route is sometimes closed). We will take lunch in the residence of His Highness of Jhalawar. After lunch we will visit the nearby pilgrimage town of Jhalrapatan, one of the purest towns that remains to be seen in India today. Although being more than 800 years old the town is very well planned, most of it still lying within the city walls that were built to defend against local dacoits and looters. The town has some beautiful temples and a very nice market. Right outside the city walls are the famous temples of Chandrabhaga. After enjoying this town to the maximum we return to Jhalawar. If time we will visit a local school supported by Wild Frontiers. This evening promises to bear a real treat as we enjoy sundowners with the Maharaja and his charming wife in their extraordinary home-cum-museum. Overnight in Hotel.
• Day 9 : Jhalawar - Bijaipur

  After breakfast we will leave for Bijaipur, stopping for lunch along the way. Crossing the Chambal ravines and then the Vindhyanchal Hills, we will visit the hand block printing village of Tarapur. The printers in Tarapur still use 100% natural dyes and prepare colours with techniques that are centuries old. The fabric is also made of natural fibres like cotton, silk, jute etc. Continuing on we will stop at Athana and visit the local carpet weavers. Bijaipur where a Royal Welcome awaits the group is a quiet village and is the centre for the surrounding inhabitants and their daily needs. We stay at castle Bijaipur, a 17th century castle which is now a heritage hotel run by the ruling family, Narendra Singh and his clan. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 10 : In Bijaipur

  After breakfast we will take a half-day tour to the surrounding villages, where we will meet many of the local people. We will have lunch at Mahadev, a Shiva temple and pilgrimage place. But remembering this is a holiday we will have the afternoon and evening free to enjoy the activities at Castle Bijaipur, like horse riding, cycling, massage, swimming, table tennis, volleyball etc. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 11 : In Bijaipur

  In the morning we will visit the local Gujjar caste of milkmen and spend the morning learning about the culture and activities of the tribe. We will watch them milking their buffalo and help in turning the milk into lassi. We will then enjoy a traditional lunch with them, cooked in the local style and finish with an ceremonial opium ceremony. Overnight in Hotel.
• Day 12 : Bijaipur - Bhensawara

  After an early breakfast we will drive on to Bhenswara, which is one of the most interesting of Rajasthan's heritage properties. Surrounded by arid hills and farmland, the region here is populated by the Rabari, a semi-nomadic shepherd tribe. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 13 : In Bhenswara

  All day to explore the area. This morning will be free to relax, to take a walk through the village and visit local families. In the afternoon we will do a leopard and shepherd's safari. Not only will we take jeeps through the region to visit the Rabari and learn about their way of life we will also do a night time drive to spot the family of leopards that have made their home in the nearby hills. Overnight in Hotel.

• Day 14 : Bhenswara - Udaipur

  After breakfast we'll drive to Ranakpur. Have lunch and then visit the exquisite marble temples at Ranakpur before we leave for Udaipur. Arriving in the afternoon we will have plenty of time to acclimatise to this most wonderful of Indian towns - 'Venice of the East' - before taking dinner at a rooftop restaurant, overlooking the lake. Overnight in Hotel.
• Day 15 : In Udaipur

  Udaipur is a place best explored at ones own pace. Guides and itineraries will be available for those wishing to have a more structured tour of this beautiful city's sights but the old town is small, made up of a labyrinth of alleyways and passages and getting lost is part of the fun. Dinner at the hotel or at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hotel.
• Day 16 : Departure from Udaipur

  After breakfast, our representative will facilitate your transfer to the airport or any other location convenient to you.
