Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Vienna (2 Nights) - Welcome Reception

  Waltz your way through Vienna, the City of Music - a fitting introduction to an unforgettable At Leisure journey through some of Europe's most enchanting landscapes. This evening meets your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception and evening orientation drive past some of the city's dazzling sights.

• Day 2 : Vienna Sightseeing and at Leisure -

  Soak up the elegance and style of this Imperial capital with a Local Specialist who will share such iconic sights as the Opera House, Parliament, St. Stephen's Cathedral and the 13th century Hofburg Palace, the former imperial palace at the heart of Vienna. Explore the charming cobblestone lanes of 'Am Hof' before spending time at leisure soaking up the kaffee culture of the city or perhaps join an Optional Experience to nearby Bratislava. This evening perhaps indulge in Vienna's intoxicating musical talent, enjoying a concert of classical music at one of the city's concert halls, churches or palaces.

• Day 3 : Vienna - Graz - Lake Bled (2 Nights) -

  We journey south towards the Semmering Pass, stopping in Graz to view its charming Old Town and symbolic clock tower on top of the Schloßberg. We continue via the picturesque Austrian Riviera, across the Slovenian border, to the rustic natural retreat of Lake Bled, set against the backdrop of forests and mountains.

• Day 4 : Lake Bled at Leisure -

  Spend the day at leisure, admiring Lake Bled's crystal clear waters from the comfort of a boat and gaze in wonder at the fairy-tale castle clinging dramatically to a cliff that rises up from the lake's edge. Consider joining an Optional Experience to Slovenia's largest glacier lake, ascending Mt. Vogel by cable car for inspiring views.

• Day 5 : Lake Bled - Ljubljana Plitvice Lakes -

  A short journey brings us to Ljubljana, where a Local Specialist will share some of the Slovenian capital's most iconic sights including the Opera House, Cathedral, National Museum, Three Bridges Square and Castle, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city. Travel south across the Croatian border to the exquisite National Park of Plitvice where you will join a Local Specialist for a guided walking tour along the wooden pathways suspended over pristine natural landscapes. Admire the cascade of spectacular waterfalls and crystal clear waters reflecting green, grey and blue against the lush landscapes.

• Day 6 : Plitvice Lakes - Split - Hvar Island (3 Nights) -

  Today, we travel to Croatia's sun-kissed Dalmatian coast to the city of Split where we will meet our Local Specialist for a fascinating tour of the UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace, a veritable fortress built as the would-be retreat for the 4th century Roman Emperor after which it is named. View the Cathedral and Baptistery of Split, once the Temple of Jupiter, before travelling to the glamorous island of Hvar for a relaxing three-night stay.

• Day 7 : Hvar Sighseeing -

  Set your watch to island time and enjoy a leisurely guided walking tour with a Local Specialist to Hvar's Old Town. Explore the peace of a village where time has stood still and enjoy a delicious Be My Guest lunch cooked in a traditional style under a clay bell. Savour the heavenly flavours of locally produced ingredients against the backdrop of the vivid-blue Adriatic before returning to Hvar for an evening at leisure.

• Day 9 : Hvar Island - Dubrovnik (3 Nights) -

  Meander south along the picture-perfect Dalmatian coast past charming villages to the ancient city of Dubrovnik - its terracotta rooftops, fortified walls and white marble façades almost tumble into the waters of the cerulean Adriatic.

• Day 10 : Dubrovnik Sighseeing -

  Saunter along the solid city walls, marble streets and labyrinthine lanes of this stunning medieval city, joining your Local Specialist for a Small Group Sightseeing walking tour of the main sights. Admire the Rector's Palace, Onofrio's Fountain and the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries, before spending time at leisure, perhaps soaking up intoxicating seafood flavours at a seaside restaurant or enjoying the lively atmosphere of a local market. This evening we enjoy a Regional Meal at a local restaurant.

• Day 11 : Dubrovnik at Leisure -

  Spend the day on your terms exploring the Pearl of the Adriatic. Tread in the footsteps of Lord Byron and George Bernard Shaw who were intoxicated by the charm of this fascinating city. Climb the medieval ramparts imagining a time when Dubrovnik fought for its freedom against Ottoman attacks or consider joining an Optional Experience to Montenegro to see the only fjord in southern Europe.

• Day 12 : Dubrovnik - Zagreb (2 Nights) -

  We leave the splendour of Dubrovnik behind as we head north to the Croatian capital of Zagreb, our home for the next two nights. This evening we dine at our hotel.

• Day 13 : Zagreb Sightseeing and Leisure -

  Join a Local Specialist this morning for an exploration of the upper and lower towns of this traditional medieval city where you'll see the majestic Cathedral, Archbishop's Palace, the Opera House and St. Mark's Church, with its colourfully tiled roof. The afternoon is yours to meander through the Old Town, twirling your Šestine umbrella as you ramble along its hidden cobblestone lanes or consider an Optional Experience into the surrounding countryside. This evening, we enjoy a Farewell Dinner celebration with our newfound friends and Travel Director.

• Day 14 : Depart Zagreb -

  Our time together has come to an end. Bid your travel companions a fond farewell at the end of a memorable At Leisure holiday together. Transfers are available to Zagreb Airport. Conditions apply. Please note: Your coach returns to Vienna from Zagreb on the final day. You are welcome to use this complimentary transfer. Drop-off in Vienna will be the Trafalgar Vienna hotel and not at the airport. Arrival will be approximately 6.00pm, depending on traffic conditions.
