For Northern India one conjures up immediate and familiar images: the Taj Mahal, the holy River Ganges, tigers, turbans, saris, great food and rickshaws. To substantiate that, this short trip gives a comprehensive introduction to some of the main highlights of North India. The tigers in Ranthambore National Park are the best allurement for the wildlife lovers; and the most sacred of cities, Varanasi adds up a new flavor to the tour. The people are entertaining; the train is fun; and the food a delight. This is a complete and very rewarding holiday according to those who have done this tour and have shared their experiences with us. Many of the sights in North India are a testament of the juxtaposition of the great Moghul and Hindu architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries when magnificent buildings including the Taj Mahal at Agra, Amer Fort and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) at Jaipur, the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri and the Jama Masjid of Delhi - the largest mosque in India, were built. In addition, there are great buildings from the British Raj; the seat of government in Delhi and the famous India Gate from where tree-lined avenues radiate the splendor and remind us of the importance of Delhi to the British.

Day 1 : Jaipur, the Colourful Capital of Rajasthan
Arrival at the International airport of Delhi in the morning and traditional welcome by our representative.
We drive to the colourful capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, popularly known as the ‘Pink City’. With its rich cultural heritage and colourful past, it is now one of the most important heritage cities in India. The city was established in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the then ruler of Amer. Also known as The City of Victory, Jaipur was the first planned city of its time. With imposing forts, dazzling palaces, serene lakes and beautiful gardens and markets it has tremendous attraction for anyone. In the evening, we explore the colorful bazaars of Jaipur.
Day 2 : Jaipur, the Colourful Capital of Rajasthan
Amber, originally, was the capital of the state before Jaipur. It is an old fort, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. This fort is also very popularly known as the Amer Palace. The Amber Fort was built in red sandstone and marble and the Maotha Lake adds a certain charm to the entire Fort.
The City Palace was where the Maharaja reigned from. This palace also includes the famous 'Chandra Mahal' and 'Mubarak Mahal', and other buildings which form a part of the palace complex.
Next, we visit the Jantar Mantar, a Solar Observatory built in the 18th century; an astronomical treasure house that measures time according to the movement of the Sun to an error of just 2 seconds with solar devices that give accurate astrological predictions as well, till date.
We also visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a five-storied facade of pink sandstone. It was built in the year 1799 to allow royal ladies to watch processions and festivities on the road through its 953 ‘Jharokas’ or Small windows, without being seen by the public.
Day 3 : Spot a tiger in Ranthambore park
Jaipur - Ranthambhore
Drive from Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park, one of the largest in Northern india, home of a large range of wildlife, including the Tiger.
We will have an Afternoon Safari in the National park trying to spot the elusive tiger, and many of the other species living in the 392 Kms of the park.
Day 4 : Agra, land of the Taj Mahal
Ranthambhore - Fatehpur Sikri
This morning take Another safari in the park to spot the tiger and other animal and bird species.
Visit of the Fatehpur Sikri, beautiful city near Agra founded in 1569 by the Emperor Akbar. The city hosts several historical building such as the Buland Darwaza. The ancient capital and fabulous ghost town of red sandstone built by Emperor Moghol Akbar. It is home to a sixteenth-century citadel, now a ghost town with surprising architecture resulting from the synthesis of various styles: Indo-Muslim, Hindu, Christian and Jain inspiration.
Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
We finally arrive in beautiful Agra city, on the banks of the river Yamuna. Agra is the home to the iconic Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built for the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan’s wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth in 1631.
Day 5 : Agra, land of the Taj Mahal
In the morning, visit of the Taj Mahal as the sun rises. Set behind a reflecting pool inside a courtyard defined by 4 minarets, the imposing main building features a massive dome and intricately carved white marble inlaid with precious stones.
In the afternoon, visit of the Red Fort Agra, a richly decorated semi-circular red sandstone fort complex with double ramparts and monuments.
In the evening, transfer to the Railway station to board the overnight train to Varanasi. Overnight Train.
Day 6 : Arrival in Varanasi and excursion to Sarnath
Agra - Varanasi(Banaras)
In the morning, you will be received by the driver and transferred to the Hotel.
Varanasi(Banaras) - Sarnath
Excursion to Sarnath, North of Varanasi and near the confluence of the Ganges and the Gomati rivers. Visit of the temple dedicated to Shreyansanath, an important place of pilgrimage for locals.
Day 7 : Arrival in Varanasi and excursion to Sarnath
Take a boat ride on the Ganges to experience Hindu rituals being performed on the bathing Ghats.
You will visit The temples and Ashram. Thereafter, a walk along Bazar would be an ideal way to explore the town.
Overnight in the Train.
Day 8 : Old city sightseeing
Varanasi(Banaras) - Delhi
In the morning, arrival in Delhi and check in at your hotel.
In the afternoon we visit the walled city of Old Delhi; crowded, full of activity and still influenced by the great Mughals who once ruled from the ramparts of the majestic Red Fort Delhi. Here we visit Jama Masjid Delhi - the largest 17th century mosque in India; Chandni Chowk - the typical Indian market always abuzz with activities; and Rajghat - the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi (also called the 'Father of the Nation’). We also visit New Delhi where we drive past the Presidential Palace, Secretariat Buildings and down the impressive Rajpath to India Gate .
Day 9 : Farewell and see you next time !
Check-out from the hotel and transfer to the International airport or any point of convenience in Delhi for onward journey to respective countries.
