How to Reach Himachal Pradesh
By Air:There are three domestic airports, namely Jubbarhatti, Gaggal and Bhuntar. Bhuntar Airport is in Kullu Manali and well connected from major cities like Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi. But nearest airport of Shimla is Jubbarhatti Airport often known as Shimla Airport. This airport is connected with Mumbai, Srinagar, Bangalore and New Delhi. Gaggal Airport is also known as Kangra Airport and it is connected to Delhi, Kullu and Chandigarh.All the airports provide easy access to taxis, or you can opt for buses as well.
By Train:Himachal Pradesh is the state of gigantic mountains, and these rugged terrains cause a barrier for the railway line. However, the state does have satisfactory broad gauged railway stations and most of the towns are further connected with toy trains or state buses. Kalka Railway station connects the state with Mumbai, New Delhi, Howrah and Jodhpur. You can travel up to Shimla by boarding the narrow-gauged Toy Trains. Una Railway station is another important railway station that serves the state and has trains coming from different towns and cities of India.Some of the other narrow-gauge railway stations present in the state include Barog, Solan, Shoghi, Mandi, BIlaspur etc.
By Road:Himachal Government has put efficient efforts to make the state’s road strong and motor-able. There are frequent and affordable bus services that run in and out of the state connecting it with other parts of the country. Christ Church Shimla : Second oldest Church in North India, Christ Church is the star attraction of Shimla. It was built back in 1884 by Colonel J.T. Boileau. The architecture of the church takes an inspiration from the Neo-Gothic style. The windows of the church form its key feature. The church has five glass windows which allure people from different communities to visit here and have a glimpse of their beauty. Every window of the church is known to present different virtues of Christianity including faith, hope, charity, fortitude, patience and humility.
Manikaran Gurudwara : One of the most renowned Sikh pilgrimage site near Manali, Manikaran Gurudwara is a secred shrine of Sikhs is located right along the banks of the Parvati river. It is believed that the location of Manikaran Gurudwara Sahib is the exact meditative spot of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The divinity of the Gurudwara is so much that pilgrims actually believe that there lies no need to visit the other religious centers of India, post visiting this place. Not just an honoured place for the Sikhs, Manikaran holds much significance even for the Hindus. In the vicinity of the famed Gurudwara, erupts three hot water springs, which are primarily used as scared bathing ghats. One of them is located under the Gurudwara and the rest two, just adjacent to it.
Rohtang Pass: A very popular tourist destination near Manali, Rohtang Pass is also known as Rohtang La. Located at an altitude of around 4000 meters from sea level, Rohtang is famous amongst tourists as a place to see snow round the year. It is one of the most visited destinations in Himachal Pradesh by families during summers as there is snow in abundance where one can indulge in snow sports. Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali : Hadimba Devi is an ancient temple in Manali, which was built in 1553 by Raja Bahadur Singh. Legends has it that Hidimbi Devi, the wife of one of the Pandavas, Bhima, meditated at the very spot of the temple and owing to such a mythology, the temple was named after her. Located in the cedar forests of Manali, The most religious site of Manali, Hidimba Devi Temple is built around a cave, the sanctum of which is covered by four tiered Pagoda roofs. It is because of the mythological belief and architectural uniqueness.

Bhimakali Temple : The Bhimakali Temple is a popular attraction in Shimla which is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The temple is located in Sarahan at the distance of 180 km from Shimla. Maa Durga is present here in the form of Bhimakali. The temple is considered one of the most famous Hindu shrines in the Himalayan province. The temple is 800 years old and it is believed to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Shaivite Hindus. As per Hindu mythology, the Shakti Peethas are devoted to Maa Shakti who is also known as Durga.
Shimla State Museum : Set on the famous Mall Road of Shimla, State Museum is a colonial building which was built back in 1974. The museum is a major attraction of Shimla and is set at a distance of around 2.5 km from Scandal Point, which is another major attraction of the hill station. The main aim behind setting up the museum was to protect and preserve the cultural wealth of Himachal Pradesh. The museum houses a great collection of coins, photographs, artifacts and other art objects which pertain to archaeology and cultural anthropology of Himachal Pradesh. One can also find a wide collection of damaged sculptures which date back to the 8th century. The museum also has a doll gallery which has a collection of Himachali tribal and bride dolls.

Indian Institute of Advanced Study : Originally, IIAS structure was built as home for Lord Duffein, who was the Viceroy of India during 1884 and 1888. The place has witnessed major historic decisions including Shimla Conference (1945) and the Separation of Pakistan and East Pakistan (1947). After independence, the building was renamed as ‘Rashtrapati Nivas’. It was used as a summer retreat by the President of India. Later, it was converted into a research centre for Indian culture, religion, humanities and social and natural sciences. The star attraction of the institute is the teak-paneled interiors. The interiors of the institute are immensely beautiful and unique. The entrance portico, grand staircase, the reception hall and fireplace are the other attractions of the institute. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study is a must visit for photographers and history buffs.
Sankat Mochan Temple Shimla : An initiative by Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj, the Sankat Mochan temple is one of the most popular religious attractions in Shimla that not only brings pilgrims in abundance, but also tourists of all age groups. Near about 5 km from Shimla, the Sankat Mochan temple has made its placement amidst the lush green forests of a tranquil topography. Named after one of the synonyms of Lord Hanuman, the charming temple complex houses various small temples of Lord Rama, Hanuman, Shiva and the creator Baba Neeb Karori Ji himself.

Day 1 : Delhi to Shimla (343 Kms / 8 hrs)
Arrive Delhi and transfer by road to Shimla the former summer capital of British India, set amidst the snow capped Shivalik Mountains which offers some of the most stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 : Shimla
Today morning, after breakfast, you will visit Kufri which is situated at an altitude of 2500 meters and is just 2 hours drive away from Shimla. Later in the afternoon, visit Zoological Park and then to Mall Road. In the evening, after a sumptous dinner, settle down for a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Manali
After breakfast, depart to Manali, a picture perfect hill station at an altitude of 1929mtrs. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure strolling through the Manali market. In the evening, after a sumptous dinner, settle down for a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 : Manali
After breakfast, take a half-day local sightseeing of Manali, visiting the 450 years old Hadimba temple, Vashisht Temple, Club House. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Manali
Today morning, take a half-day excursion to Rohtang Pass/Rohtang snow point (closed on Tuesday). On return, visit Solang Valley. Today, you can opt for adventure sports like Para Gliding, Zorbing or Skiing (subject to snow) on direct-payment basis. Stay overnight at the hotel. Rohtang Pass: It is 51 Kms | 2hrs from Manali. It is not accessible for almost eight months in a year as it is covered by snow. Guests are generally taken to the snow point on Rohtang Road, permitted by Border Security Force. In case a Tuesday falls on this day, guests shall be taken to the snow point on some other day as we have three nights in Manali. Solang Valley: It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley, 14 kms northwest of the resort town in Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass and is known for its summer and winter adventure activities. Most commonly offered activities are parachuting, paragliding, skating and zorbing. Note: Both Snow Point /Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley will be covered on the same day and the visit is subject to weather conditions (On Direct Payment basis with union cab).
Day 6 : Manali to Dharamsala
After breakfast drive to Dharamshala. Arrive Dharamshala and check in at hotel. After you will visit Baijnath - the oldest existing Shiva temple in the country, War Memorial, Kanga Art Museum, Dally Lake, McLeodganj, St. Johns Church etc. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 7 : Dharamsala to Dalhousie
Morning after breakfast departs for Dalhousie (4 hrs.). Situated at 2039 mts in the outer slope s of the Dhaula Dhar range with its natural beauty and natural surroundings. On arrival check- in at the hotel. Rest of the day for leisure and shopping. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 : Dalhousie
Full day sightseeing to Khajjiar, 18 Kms from. Dalhousie. Its one of the most scenic saucer shaped Plateau and is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests, its beauty has further been enhanced by a small lake in the center with a floating island and 9-hole golf course here are the other interesting places to cover. Return to Dalhousie and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 : Dalhousie to Delhi
Today after breakfast we checkout from hotel and proceed for Delhi by Road. Drop at Airport / Railway Station. Tour end.
