Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Addis Ababa

  Arrival Addis Ababa, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

• Day 2 : Drive to Bahir dar

  We stop at villages along the way and get a good appreciation of rural life. The Highlight is visit Debrelibanos monastery and the Blue Nile and the gorge which we cross by the new bridge before rising again to continue our journey.

• Day 3 : In Bahirdar

  A.M. Boat trip on Lake Tana will take you to the great water system that gives the Blue Nile its tremendous power. This boat trip also provides the opportunity to view magnificently preserved island monasteries of the thirteenth century including the visit of ancient church and treasury of Ura Kidane Mehret at Zeghie Peninsula and Azua Mariam
  
  P.M. Drive to the Blue Nile falls (Tis Issat), about 45 minutes by road from Bahir dar followed by a 30 minute; walk from the road to the falls. Here, the Blue Nile starts its journey to the Mediterranean.

• Day 4 : Gondar

  In the morning, drive to Gondar,
  Gondar was Ethiopia's royal capital until 1868. It is founded by Emperor Fassilides in 1632; Gondar has been called the "Camelot of Africa" because of its castles and churches.
  Full day tour of Gonder; visit the castles compound, Ruin palaces, Bath of King Fasiledes (1632-1667 G.C) and visit Debre Berhan Sellasie Church famous for its wall & ceiling paints of 18th Century

• Day 5 : Drive to the Simien Mountains

  Drive to the Simien Mountains National Park of Northern Ethiopia is a World Heritage Site. The scenery along the escarpment is breathtaking and for those with the stamina for a moderate walk of about 2 hours there will be an opportunity to get an appreciation of the beauty of this wilderness that attracts trekkers from all over the world

• Day 6 : Driving in the Simien Mountains

  Driving in the Simien Mountains en route to the kingdom of Aksum a drive of over 290 kms will take us to the ancient Ethiopian capital of Aksum by day's end.

• Day 7 : Axum

  Axum was the kingdom that dominated Africa and Asia for a thousand years.
  A.M. St. Mary of Zion church which the Ark of the Covenant resides it brought by King Solomon and Queen of Sheba's son "Menelik" almost 3000 years ago.
  P.M. Tour includes visit to the museum, Obelisks and Stele, the Castle Ruins of King Kaleb and Queen of Sheba's Bath and Palace,

• Day 8 : Mekele

  Drive to Mekele, En route visit Yeha temple and Wekro church – on of the famous Tigray Church.

  After visiting the town of Mekelle, continue driving to Lalibela for overnight

  Full day in Lalibela to visit the first and second part of the eleven monolithic & semien monolithic of the 12th century Churches that are classified in to two cluster (eastern & Western).
