Day 1 : Amritsar
Our service begins as soon as you arrive at the railways staion or the airport. A special terrain vehicle shall pick you up and check-you in at the chosen Hotel.
Your city tour shall begin with the blessings at the world famous Golden Temple- the height of sacred for the Sikhs. Then visit the JallianwalaBagh, a memorial to the arrogance of the British and the helplessness of the thousands massacred in open fire.
Witness the ‘Retreat’ at the Indo-Pak Wagah Border. An experience of sight and sound, this is the only open land border between the two countries. Often picturised by both Bollywood and Hollywood productions, this experience is touching to almost all who witness it.
You shall be back to the Hotel well in time for dinner, drinks and warm conversations. This is your first Overnighter in Amritsar.
Day 2 : Dalhousie
Amritsar to Dalhousie
After a wholesome breakfast we shall take on the 200 kms drive to Dalhousie.
A little freshen up time before you leave to see the spectacular churches, JandhriGhat, Bakrota Hills, Lake Mandi, GandhiChowk, SubashBowli, Satdhara and the Panjpulla.
You shall be back to the Hotel well in time for dinner, drinks and warm conversations. This is your first Overnighter in Dalhousie.
Day 3 : Onwards to Khajjiar
After a wholesome breakfast we shall drive to Khajjar.
This‘Mini –Switzerland’ of India was probably a glacial bowl formed during the last Himalayan ice age and left with a lake that gradually withered away. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop – Khajjiar sanctuary, where you can enjoy horse riding and the seasonal adventure activities.It is a wonderful feast to the eyes and the senses to spend a whole day in this picturesque quaint Himalayan geography.
You shall be back to the Hotel well in time for dinner, drinks and warm conversations, and your second Overnighter in Dalhousie.
Day 4 : Onwards to Dharamshala
With the heady experience of Khajjar still in your heads, we shall leave for Dharamshala soon after your favourite breakfast.
This 150 kms drive is as scenic and beautiful to give you the peace and pleasure you seek.
Dharamshala, the dwelling of the exiled Tibetan government and the residence of the Dalai Lama is full of current significance, both in the Buddhist and the Geo-political arenas.
Pine forests, monks’ residences, Tibetan markets, prayer wheels and chortens mark this once-quiet, now-noisy existence.
After a quick check-in, you shall take in the School of Tibetan studies, Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts, the Bhagsunath and Dal Lake.
You shall be back to the Hotel well in time for dinner, drinks and warm conversations. This is your first Overnighter in Dharamshala.
Day 5 : Dharamsala
This place has much to offer forthe spiritual, theadventurous, the historian and the literary, the curious and the cynic.
So, this day too shall be spent in the charming, questioning environs of Dharamshala – the name itself means the school of the religious. Starting with McLeodganj, we go on to the Dalai Lama Temple, the Tsuglagkhang, the Bhagsu Nag, St John Church and the Norbulinka Institute.
It is at the Tsuglagkhang that you see the three significant Buddhist teachers: Sakyamuni Buddha, the Avalokitesvara and Padmasambhava, McLeodgunj is the colourful marketplace, and the second heart of this place as all who come here lounge in this square, lanes, eateries and bookshops
Truly, a day is not enough to take in enough of all that’s here.
You shall be back to the Hotel well in time for dinner, drinks and warm conversations. This is your second Overnighter in Dharamshala.
Day 6 : Onwards to Manali
A lovely 275 kms of a drive is the highlight of this day.
So, after your favourite breakfast, we shall leave for Manali.
A perfect hill station on the Himalayan mountainscape interspersed with beautiful waterfalls.
After a long, but exhilarating drive you shall check-in at the chosen Hotel. Relax, take in the rest of the day as you please. Dinner is at the Hotel and this is your first Overnighter in Manali.
Day 7 : Rohtangpas
On this second day In Manali, after breakfast, we shall go on to Rohtang pass or Snow Point as it is commonly called.
These mountain-scapes are snow bound all year round. Stunning in their whiteness and refreshing in their tall calm, this point shall sure humble you.
It really does take all day to take in the town the picturesque views. Experience it at your own pace.
The evening too is all yours, so we shall drive down to the Mall side or stop at any point of your chioice, but we sure need to be down before the sun starts setting.

Day 8 : Goddess, Ogress Hidimba
This day shall be more ritualistic and religious, if one may say so. The only temple dedicated to the Ogress wife of Bhima of the Mahabharata Epic, HIdimba, is our first halt. The forest cover is diminishing but once upon a time, this temple was in the midst of a dense green calm and quiet Himalayan forests.
We then go on to the Manu temple, the Tibetan Monastery, the Vasistha Bath and Club House,
After such a cross-historical religious time travel, you shall have time for the here & now shopping therapy in the Famous Manali Mall.
And, Back to the Hotel in time for the drinks, dinner and warm conversations.
Day 9 : Onwards to Shimla
A 270 kms to be taken in through a 8 hours lovely drive after your breakfast.
On your way you would see the workshops and sale outlets of the famous shawls made in Kulu. And the legendary Vaishno Devi temple.
You reach your Hotel as the evening comes in. Cool and refreshing winds soothe you of your day’s journey. Check-in and relax. Dinner, Conversations and restful sleep – this is your first overnighter in Shimla.
Day 10 : Shimla
A jewel in the SIvalik Ranges of the Himalayas awaits you today.
So, after your favourite Breakfast we shall leave forKufri, the Ski destination. Situated at an altitude of 2500 meters just an hour’s drive from Shimla this is more than a ski joint. Take in the picturesque slopes and quaint architecture and the country folks’ welcome smiles.
Then we shall travel on toNaldehra, Kamna Devi Temple, Lakkar Bazar, and the Church.
After a heady day of sights and sounds, you sure need a shopping therapy as a memoir. So down to the famous Shimla Mall and the Ridge.
And, Back to the Hotel in time for the drinks, dinner and warm conversations. This is your last Overnighter in Shimla, and we are almost at the end of our journey.
Day 11 : Onwards to Chandigarh
A lovely 120 kms drive shall take us down from the mountains to the urban township of Chandigarh.
So soon after your wholesome breakfast, we leave for the ‘planned city’ of the visionary Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. We shall sure visit the famous Rock Garden, Rose Garden, the Sector 17 market, and the recent modern establishments of this city.
And, Back to the Hotel in time for the drinks, dinner and warm conversations. This is your last Overnighter of the journey in Chandigarh.
Day 12 –Goodbyes’
After a hearty breakfast, well wishing goodbyes’ to new friends and promises of travelling once again, you shall be dropped off to your scheduled departure point
This is a classic journey that begins in Amritsar, goes around to Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Manali, Shimla and ends in Chandigarh. The paths of the Sikh saints, the Tibetan Buddhist exile and the Colonial British are covered through ‘today’s eyes’. See the rich culture of the people, the socio-economic linkages and the harmonious mingling of country and town. The vast fertile food-baskets and the pastures for the sheep and cattle, the gentle slopes and the high snow points of the Himalayas are all in this 12 days – 11 nights journey.
