For this spectacular horseback riding trip in Mendoza, we will start by driving to the town of El Salto Potrerillos, around 80km southwest of Mendoza. On the way, the route offers superb views of the highest mountains, El Plata and the imposing Tupungato volcano. El Salto itself is a small village located at the foot of the Cordon del Plata mountain range and at the heart of the Natural Reserve of the same name. When we arrive, authentic gauchos will be waiting for us ready to take us further into the mountains on horseback, a fantastic way to explore the valleys and towering mountains of the Andes. Through the valleys and past the peaks, we will arrive at a lookout point where we can see the highest mountains in the Coron del Plata, visit an ancient native ritual center, and will end the ride at the Portezuelo de la Piedra Blanca. The day will finish in traditional (and very tasty) style with an Argentine asado (local BBQ) prepared by the Gauchos in the traditional way. On horseback is possibly the best way to see the natural beauty of the Andes.Personal items (e.g. hygiene, clothes etc.)
