  Hot Springs, Chemka In Swahili “Chemka” means boiling or bubbling is an unexpected paradise hidden in the desert scrub outside the town of Boma. This beautiful mineral spring that originates from Kilimanjaro’s ground waters releases bubbles as it comes up into the natural pool. It is surrounded by large fig trees with surprising roots. If lucky, you may spot baboons hanging from treetops.
  
  Cheka Hot Springs is located approximately 35km from Moshi and 10km from Boma town. Hot springs are an excellent place to visit after a Mount Kilimanjaro hike, or safari adventure, or for a picnic/swim in clear, warm water and Mount Kilimanjaro views on a clear day. For those looking for day trips or camping, this is a beautiful place that you won’t regret visiting.
