Birla Mandir:
Birla Mandir on the Naubath Pahad is a Hindu temple of Lord Venkateshwara, built entirely of white marble located in Hyderabad. The Birla Foundation has constructed several similar temples in India and all of them are known as Birla Mandir. Having chief deity as Lord Venkateshwara, the temple has pan-Hindu character with deities of Shiva, Shakti, Ganesh, Hanuman, Brahma, Saraswati, Lakshmi and Saibaba. The selected teachings of holy Gurbani are engraved on temple walls.
Golkonda Fort:
Golkonda is a ruined city of south-central India and capital of ancient Kingdom of Golkonda, situated 11 km west of Hyderabad. The builder of Golkonda was Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah Wali, the 4th Qutub king of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty. Ibrahim was following in the spirit of his ancestors who had ruled the kingdom of Golkonda from 1512. Their first capital, the fortress citadel of Golkonda, was rebuilt for defense from invading Mughals from the north.
Ravindra Bharati:
Ravindra Bharathi is an auditorium located in Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh. It was named after the Nobel laureate and famous writer Rabindranath Tagore. It is the cultural landmark, which has big auditorium, besides a gallery and a conference hall. It built by Andhra Pradesh Government in 1964 and maintained by the Department of Culture. The auditorium was modernized in 2005. Other interesting destinations apart Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad are Birla Mandir, Ravindra Bharati, Qutub shahi Tombs, Nehru Zoological Park and NTR Gardens, Golkonda Fort, Salarjung Museum and Charminar.
Salarjung Museum:
The Salar Jung Museum is an art museum at Darushifa, on the southern bank of the Musi River. It is one of the three National Museums of India and has a collection of sculptures, paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, metallic artefacts, carpets, clocks, and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt, Europe, and North America. Salarjung Museum is the third largest museum in India having the biggest one-man collections of antiques in the world.
Qutub shahi Tombs:
The famous tombs of the seven Qutub Shahi rulers in the Ibrahim Bagh are located near to the famous Golkonda Fort. The galleries of the smaller tombs are of a single storey whilst the larger ones are two storied. In the centre of each tomb is a sarcophagus which overlies the burial vault in a crypt below. The domes were originally overlaid with blue and green tiles. The tombs are domed structures built on a square base surrounded by pointed arches and the mausoleums of the Sultans of Golkonda, the founding rulers of Hyderabad are truly magnificent monuments that have stood the test of time and braved the elements.
Charminar:
Built in 1591 AD, Charminar is a landmark monument located in Hyderabad. The English name is a transliteration and combination of the Urdu words Char and Minar, translating to "Four Towers". The eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches. The landmark has become a global icon and landmark of Hyderabad, listed among the most recognized structures of India. The Charminar is on the east bank of Musi River, to the northeast lays the Laad Bazaar.
Nehru Zoological Park and NTR Gardens:
Nehru Zoological Park, also known as Hyderabad Zoo is a 380 acres zoo located near Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad. It is one of the three most visited destinations in Hyderabad and Zoo hours vary by season as the zoo is closed on Mondays. NTR Gardens is a small, but popular, public, urban park adjacent to Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad, India. Constructed in several phases since 1999, the area that is predominantly a park is geographically located in the centre of the city.
Surendrapuri:
Surendrapuri is a museum located 60km from Hyderabad, and is also known as Mythological Awareness Center. It was established to create an awareness of Hindu mythology, by Kunda Satyanarayana in memory of his son Surendra. It contains full sized replicas of almost all the important Hindu temples and the architecture of the temple inside makes one feel as if one is in the actual holy place itself.
