All Iceland has organised this 14 night self-drive package to take in as much as possible of Iceland’s varied countryside and spectacular sights. You will drive along rugged coastline and glacial valleys; visit some of Europe’s biggest waterfalls and cross volcanic landscape. This package allows you to explore the Best of Iceland at a comfortable phase.

Day 1 : Arrival
Arrival in Iceland. Collect your rental car from Keflavík Airport and head to Reykjavík. If flight time allows, go for a exploration walk around Reykjavík or a dip in the world famous Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa ideall located on route to Reykjavík from Keflavík International Airport. We will send you plenty of suggestions of the "must see's" in the city.
Day 2 : Explore Whale Fjord and Waterfalls
Explore the scenic Whale fjord and the valley of Borgarfjörður with its waterfalls, hot springs and historic sites. Visit Europe´s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver.
Day 3 : Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula with its snowcapped volcano Snæfellsnes, stunning coastline, lava fields and bird colonies. Take your time to explore the magnificent Snæfellsnes National Park. Visit the cozy town of Stykkishólmur from where boat tours around Breiðafjörður bay are available (June-August).
Day 4 : Head to Westfjords
Take the morning ride on the ferry Baldur and travel to the west fjords (ferry is optional and not included in the package price). Stop at the small but beautiful island of Flatey. Head to Patreksfjörður when you´re back on dry land.
Day 5 : Látrabjarg and Puffins
Drive to Europe’s largest bird cliff Látrabjarg. Enjoy the magnificend view from the high cliff on Europe´s westernmost point. Afterwards, drive to the Red Sand Beach (Rauðisandur) and enjoy a walk in the picturesque landscape.
Day 6 : Explore the Westfjords
Be prepared to get impressed by the stunning fjords while travelling north in this beautiful peninsula. Stop at Iceland´s most beautiful waterfall, Dynjandifoss. You will pass a lot of small villages until you reach the capital of the west fjords, Ísafjörður.
Day 7 : Seals and Fjords
Today you will leave the west fjords and drive along the picturesque fjords in the north back to the mainland. Stop in Hvammstangi to visit the Seal exhibition.
Day 8 : Historic Sights and Siglufjörður
Drive via Sauðárkrókur to Siglufjörður, the former herring-fishing capital of Iceland, and visit the historic sites of Hólar as well as the stunning sites of Tröllaskagi peninsula.
Day 9 : Akureyri and Whale Watching
Visit Akureyri, the capital of the north, and the waterfall of the gods, Goðafoss. Afterwards, proceed further on to Húsavík and go for an evening whale watching tour from Húsavík (June - August). You can also go whale watching from Akureyri.
Day 10 : Lake Mývatn
The unique landscape surrounding the Mývatn area makes it a perfect spot for hiking. What better way to relax after the hike than to enjoy the Mývatn natural baths.
Day 11 : Dettifoss Waterfall
Drive around Tjörnes peninsula and visit Europe’s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss (mid June to August). Afterwards, proceed further eastwards.
Day 12 : Explore the Eastfjords
Begin the morning by travelling along the coastline of the Lagarfljót river. Stop in Hallormsstaður, where Iceland’s largest forest is located. Afterwards, proceed further south whilst enjoying your ride along the scenic east fjords. Stop in Höfn before proceeding further along the the glacier. The Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon is there to impress you.
Day 13 : Head South
Drive along the south coast and witness many natural wonders such a black lava beaches, waterfalls and glaciers.
Day 14 : The Golden Circle Drive
Visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area in Haukadalur and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Day 15 : Departure
If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes Peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation if you have not visited already. Drive back to Keflavík International Airport and return your rental car. Depart for home.
