Sainte Marie is a favorite holiday destination, due to its sandy beaches, exuberant vegetation and spice gardens growing vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon. Once a haunt of pirates, the island offers diving and water sports and is a whale-watchers paradise as the humpback whales pass on their passage north to give birth and breed.
Day 1 : Ile St Marie
Your guide will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure relaxing.
Day 2 : Ile St Marie
Today you might like to explore the nearby village Ambodifotatra. This is a pleasant town, and is the only place on the island with any infrastructure. Driving through the village and the tropical vegetation till Ilot Madame. The island was served as the fortified administrations centre of the French East India Company. Then continuation to the Barachois, visit of the town, the market…. You can profit that for shopping, going to the post office, changing money to the bank.

Day 3 : Ile St Marie
If you are feeling adventurous today you can go quad biking around the island. Starting the bike to the North of the Island through typical villages for 07 kms. Then taking the road called “Mandraka” through the Ravinala’s hill (traveller palms) for joining the east part of the island (04km). After spending a few times on the beach there are still 04 km to the North East of the island which leads you to Ambodifotatra village after crossing the village of St Joseph. Back to the south of the Island, 11 km in crossing the embankment and the Ilot Madame.

Day 4 : Ile St Marie - L'Ile aux Nattes
This is a small pleasant island in the south of Saine Marie. Access is via pirogue crossing the crystalline water of the lagoon. Walking on the west part of the small island. Visit of the island with a local guide, you can walk along the beach, visiting some villages, or hiking to the highest point of the island for having a panoramic view.
Day 5 : Ile St Marie - in Season Whale Watching
Antongil’s bay and the channel separating the small island to the mainland are considered among the best whale – watching sites in the region. Every year from June to October, several whales’ swim through those waters, with many staying in the bay to give birth or to look for mates. During this time hotels and dive centers organize a whale watching around the island.
Day 6 : Ile St Marie
Spend the day at leisure, relaxing on the beach.
Day 7 : Ile St Marie to Antananarivo
After breakfast at the hotel you will transfer to the airport can catch your flight back to Antananarivo.
