Statistics of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium Dharamsala HPCA

Dhauladhar Mountains about 18kms North East of Kangra town. Dharamshala is known for its scenic-beauty amidst high pine trees, tea gardens and other timber-yielding trees vying with one another for height, calmness and serenity. Since 1960, when it becomes temporary headquarters of the Dalai Lama, Dharamshala has risen to international repute as "The Little Lhasa in India".

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association or the HPCA Stadium is a newly built cricket stadium located in the mountainous city of Dharmasala in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This is a new stadium as it was built as recently as 2003. It is a mid-sized stadium with a capacity of 23,000 spectators. The stadium acts as the home ground for the Himachal Pradesh cricket team that plays in the Ranji Trophy.

The stadium acts as a backup venue for the IPL matches & at times acts as the home venue of the Kings XI Punjab. Since it is a mountainous city, the stadium is located at a great elevation which makes it ideal for teams to use it as a practice venue. Pakistan was the first international cricket team to have played a match here when they toured India in 2005. But it was a first-class match against the Board President's XI.
