Day 1 : Arrival
Arrive at Teheran international airport. Meet up with your private guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel in Teheran and have the rest of the evening off for rest. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day 2 : Tehran
Next morning, after breakfast, depart on a tour of the city of Teheran to learn more about the fascinating history of the place. See the Treasury of National Jewels to drool over gold and glitter. The treasury is home to the most expensive jewels in the world and the most famous include the world’s largest uncut ruby and the pink diamond. Also visit the National Museum of Iran to see ceramics and stone carvings from as long back as the 5th millennium BC. You will also be taken to the Niavaran Palace which is one of the last Shah’s palaces and now converted into a museum. Also stop by the Teheran Bazaar which is reputedly the world’s largest and located in a sprawling large area selling everything under the sun. Also included is a trip to the Milad Tower which is the fourth tallest tower in the world. Finally see the Golestan Palace Complex, a collection of buildings set in a walled park veined with canals rushing down from the Tochal mountains. It stands on the site of the historic Arg (citadel) of Tehran which was originally built in the time of Shah Abbas of the Safavid dynasty. Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Shiraz in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Shiraz
Day 3 : Shiraz - Persepolis - Naqsh E Rostam
After breakfast at the Shiraz hotel, embark on a tour outside Shiraz to explore Persepolis, the center of the great Persian Empire, ceremonial capital of the Achaemenians and the showpiece of Achaemenian art, Persepolis (Capital of Persia in Greek) is a historic site. Visit the Haremsara Museum in Persepolis which is argued to have either been a harem for the king or a place for visiting ambassadors during the Shahs’ rule. Also see the Naqsh-E-Rostum which is a cemetery for Persepolis. Travel back to Shiraz city to see the Bazaar of Shiraz where thousands of vendors are housed in an ancient bazaar setting; the Hafez tomb which is the resting place of Hafez, one of the greatest masters of Persian poetry and the literary giant of the 14th century. Also see the Saadi Tomb which is also the resting place of great poet Saadi. The porch with its tall columns of pinkish marble is a traditional feature of Iranian architecture. Finally see the Gate of Koran which is Shiraz’s main entrance. The original gate was built over 1000 years ago. The newly built gate is considered to be one of the best architectural designs in Iran. Enjoy fascinating views of Shiraz upon climbing the gate stairways. Transfer back to hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Shiraz
Day 4 : Pasargadae - Izadkhast - Esfehan
Early next morning, finish breakfast at the hotel and depart for the long drive to Esfehan. En route, make the first of two stops at Pasargadae which is a ruin just outside of Shiraz and see the most prominent attraction there, the Tomb of Cyrus. The remains of the tomb are over 2500 years old and are in decent condition, made of white limestone and stand at a height of 36 ft. Next, stop at Izadkhast complex which is a World Heritage Site. The complex consists of a Castle, a caravanserai and a Safavai period bridge. After Izadkhast, drive straight to Esfehan and visit the Si-o-Se Pol Bridge which is the most famous of bridges in Esfehan and renowned for being a masterpiece of the excellent Safavid architectural designs. Also see another bridge, Khaju Bridge which is a 17th century bridge and was built by Shah Abbas II and connects two banks of the river Zayandeh. Transfer to the hotel in Esfehan. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day 5 : Esfehan
In the morning, after your breakfast you will be taken on a tour of Esfehan. Visit the 17th century Chehelsotoun Palace also called Palace of forty columns whose main function was for holding religious-national ceremonies and royal festivals and for receiving royal ambassadors and guests. See the Naqsh-E-Jahan square which has two mosques and a bazaar and dates back to the time of Shah Abbas II in the 17th century. Delve into the delights of the Aliqapoo Palace which is a grand palace from the 17th century and was originally designed as a vast portal and is 7 storeys high. Also visit Emam Khomeini Mosque and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque which are among the most interesting in the world. Transfer back to the hotel for dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Esfehan.
Day 6 : Natanz - Abyaneh
Early in the morning, leave for Abyaneh which is a three hour long drive. After checking out of the hotel, see the Vank Cathedral in Esfehan which was one of the first churches to be established in the city's Jolfa district by Armenian immigrants settled by Shah Abbas I after the Ottoman War of 1603-1605. Also in Esfehan, see the Armenian quarter in Julfa along the south bank of the Zayandeh river. While driving out of Esfehan, stop at Natanz to enjoy the art of ceramics and the place has been known to produce outstanding pottery and ceramic material ever since the Cold War period. At Abyaneh, go on a walk tour of the ancient village and observe the ways of living of the people there and see the ruins of the Sasanid era fort. Also see the Museum of Anthropology. Transfer to the hotel in Abyaneh. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Kashan - Tehran
Leave early next morning from Abyaneh for Tehran via Kashan. In Kashan, stop over to visit the Fin Garden which is a historical Persian garden where the Qajarid chancellor was murdered in the 19th century by King Naseereddin Shah and the garden has some spectacular water features. Also see the Tabatabaei House which was built in the 1840s for the affluent Tabatabaei family. It consists of four beautiful courtyards, delightful wall paintings with elegant stained glass windows, and all the other classic signatures of traditional Persian residential architecture. Transfer to your hotel in Tehran and spend the night at the hotel relaxing and also packing up for your departure the following day.
Day 8 : Tehran - Departure
In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Teheran airport for your flight back home.
