Pushkar is a town in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated 14 km northwest of Ajmer and 150 km from Jaipur. Pushkar is one of the five sacred dhams for devout Hindus.

Day Itinerary

  After you arrival in Jaipur you will be received by our representative at your desired place in Jaipur and further drive straight for excursion tour to Pushkar. It takes 03:00 hrs. drive to reach Pushkar from Jaipur.
  
  Pushkar is a holy town in the state of Rajasthan famous for the Pushkar lake, various ghats and temples spread all around the lake.
  
  The word 'Pushkar' means lotus flower, which is said to be the seat of Brahma, one of the Hindu holy trinity, who is worshipped as the creator of this world. The legend has it that the demon Vajra Nabha killed Brahma's children, he in turn struck him with his weapon, a lotus flower. Vajra Nabha died with the impact, and the petals of the lotus fell at three places. One of them is Pushkar, where it gave birth to a lake. Brahma is supposed to have performed sacrifice at this lake on Kartik Purnima (the full moon day of the Kartik month (generally in the month of November), hallowing the place.

  Pushkar Lake
  Pushkar Lake is considered one of the most sacred lakes and main attraction of this area. Hindu pilgrims flock this place due to this holy lake and now become a center for Hindu pilgrimage. This lake said to have consecrated to Lord Brahma, the creator of universe when lotus dropped from his hand into the vale and lake emerged in this place.
  
  Brahma Temple
  The temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator of universe. Most importantly, it is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshipped
  
  Savitri Temple
  The temple is seen atop the Ratnagiri Hill, which is dedicated to Goddess Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma.
  
  Shopping at Pushkar
  Shopping is a good option when you are in Pushkar. The local markets display souvenirs, Rajasthani costumes, jewellery, embroidered fabrics, decorative pieces and groovy accessories. The bazaar becomes a hub of activity during the annual Pushkar Fair.
  
  In the evening after the sightseeing drive back to the Jaipur and you will be transferred to your desired place in Jaipur with a bunch of sweet memories.
