For travellers planning a tour of Jaisalmer from Delhi and Jaipur, we have drafted two tour itineraries (plans) below, where you can either leave Delhi on Day 1 and will be back home (Delhi) on Day 5 morning if you opt for train travel. Secondly, you can catch a flight from Delhi to Jaisalmer on day 1 and come back to Delhi via flight again on day 3.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  Catch the evening train from Old Delhi Train Station/ DLI (5:35 pm), Delhi Sariola Railway Station (5:50 pm) or from Delhi Cantt (6:07 pm).
  The train is Delhi Jaisalmer Express – 14659 and you will reach Jaisalmer on Day 2 at 11:45 am.
  At the station, a driver & cab will be waiting for your arrival & will drop you at the hotel, where you can rest till 3 pm
  From 3 pm till night, you will visit Vyaas Chatri, Gadisar Lake, NK Sharma puppet show in the evening and plan dinner anywhere in Jaisalmer.
  By night the driver will drop you at the hotel.

• Day 2 :

  Catch the evening train from Old Delhi Train Station/ DLI (5:35 pm), Delhi Sariola Railway Station (5:50 pm) or from Delhi Cantt (6:07 pm).
  The train is Delhi Jaisalmer Express – 14659 and you will reach Jaisalmer on Day 2 at 11:45 am.
  At the station, a driver & cab will be waiting for your arrival & will drop you at the hotel, where you can rest till 3 pm
  From 3 pm till night, you will visit Vyaas Chatri, Gadisar Lake, NK Sharma puppet show in the evening and plan dinner anywhere in Jaisalmer.
  By night the driver will drop you at the hotel.

• Day 3 :

  After breakfast at the hotel, we will plan a morning tour of Jaisalmer Golden Fort, Patwon & Salim Singh Haveli and many mansions inside the fort.
  From 2-3 pm, you can plan your lunch in the city, and later checkout from the hotel.
  By 3-4 pm we will head for Sam sand dune area, which is 45 mins drive from Jaisalmer city.
  First, you will check-in at the booked desert camp,
  Later enjoy activities like camel or Jeep Safari, Quad bike ride, photography of Sam’s sunset point till sunset (7 pm).
  Enjoy a 2 hour Rajasthani musical program with complimentary dinner, and night stay will be in the desert camp.

• Day 4 :

  Leave for Jaisalmer after breakfast at the camp.
  Plan a local Jaisalmer city tour from 11 am to 4 pm.
  Drop at Jaisalmer railway station to catch the Jaisalmer Delhi Express 14660 at 4:45 pm & reach Delhi next day around 11:15 am.
  And on day 5 morning, you will be in Delhi.

• Day 5 :

  Leave for Jaisalmer after breakfast at the camp.
  Plan a local Jaisalmer city tour from 11 am to 4 pm.
  Drop at Jaisalmer railway station to catch the Jaisalmer Delhi Express 14660 at 4:45 pm & reach Delhi next day around 11:15 am.
  And on day 5 morning, you will be in Delhi.
