As the palms pep the history, the sun rays blazing down on the boulevard, the mixture of green pastures, longwinded escapes, stunning glaciers and unique culture beseech you to pick- up and begins the journey towards a secretive and astounding globe.
Lies in the saffron state, the land of high passes is a snow-covered mountain, which offers a range of breathtaking, and stirring hikes. The Jammu to Manali via Srinagar & Ladakh hike is out of them, where you will sightsee the marvelous peaks, stunning ravines, tranquil Markha River and barley pastures.
Hiking through these regions will give you sufficient opportunities to discover the new regions, cultures and lifestyles of people living there.
Day 1 : ARRIVE JAMMU - SRINAGAR
On reach to the saffron state airport or railway station, you will be meeting our representative and then proceed towards the Venice of East, which is 294 Kms / approx 7 Hours journey. On reach to the land of lakes, we will check into the pre-arranged Houseboat or hotel for an Overnight Stay. In the afternoon, you will be taken top the shikara ride on Dal Lake, where you be visiting the detached vegetable commons and Open Dal Lake. On horseracing the Shikara’s, you will be glancing the amply of opportunities like bird watching with plentiful species including Kingfisher, Little Bittern, Common Pariah Kites, Grebe etc.
Day 2 : SRINAGAR (LOCAL SIGHTSEEING)
Today, you are free to explore the area. In the morning after having crowcock meal, stroll towards the shrine dedicated to the Shankaracharya. The story behind the place is that 10 centuries ago the great philosopher and saint Shankaracharya stayed here on tripping towards Kashmir just to revive Sanatan Dharma. Later on head towards the Hazratbal Mosque, located in a village on the western shorelines of the Dal Lake conflicting the Nishat Bagh, an untouched white marble edifice molding its reflection in the waters of the lake. Like the other mosques in Srinagar, which have a pagoda like roof, Hazratbal is the only mosque to have a vaulted rooftop while other devouring diverse pagoda like roofs Gardens &Jama Masjid. In the evening we will be sightseeing the Mughal Gardens, Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). After visiting above gardens we will drive back to Hotel or Houseboat. Enjoy traditional feast followed by the overnight stay.
Day 3 : SRINAGAR TO KARGIL (VIA SONMARG) – 204 KMS
With the astonishing sights of the mountains, you will be reach in Srinagar airport, where you will meet us and further drive for three hours to reach the Sonamarg. Explore the province and then in afternoon drive further for 2 hours to reach Kargil. Check into the Hotel and get yourself unwind. In the evening explore the vicinity and enjoy the relish a traditional Kashmiri dinner, which is followed up by the overnight stay.
Nestled in alpine valley, Sonamarg is hill station, which lies at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level. Sonamarg, means 'meadow of gold' has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh wander along here and abounds with trout and mahseer, snow trout can be caught in the main river.
Day 4 : KARGIL TO LEH (VIA LAMAYURU)
Feasting your eyes in the dawn, have a delicious meal and then proceed towards the Leh. Enroute visit Lamayuru, an oldest existing monastery of the Ladakh region.
Located in the charismatic milieu of pebbly crags, Lamayuru is a tranquil halt on your way to Wanla. Earlier in 11th century, this monastery exhibits an affluent collection of wall canvas, carpets, artifacts and statues from the past era. Apart from being known as a famous monastery, Lamayuru is also known for its two grand festivals, where a number of consecrated dances and rituals are performed to pay reverence to various Buddhist deities.
Continue Later we continue downhill and head to Upshi, the scenery changes dramatically; as we enter the fertile Indus valley the area is irrigated by the river and is dotted with pretty villages and spectacular stupas. The awesome multi-hued mountains around us add to the beauty and richness of our environment. Crossing the Indus River the road improves as we head towards Leh. This is an easy stretch; we pass the Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery and the Chortens Gardens en route Leh.Check-in at the hotel located near the main town and stay overnight.
Day 5 : LEH
The day will be free, as today you will be exploring the area. In the morning after having crowcock meal stroll towards the Spituk Monastery, erected in the 15th century at the era of Grags ‘bum-lde. After that visit the Gelug-pa monastery, erected as a fortress on the summit of crags and also visit Hall Of Fame lies near Leh.
In the afternoon, you will be visiting the Sankar Gompa, situated at an aloofness of approximately 3 km from the town of Leh. And then in the evening stroll towards market, Namgyal hill Lhasa's Potala Palace. Late in the evening return back to hotels for an overnight stay followed with the mouthwatering feast.
Day 6 : LEH–NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA 18,390 FT. (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Freshen up and have luscious meal to plank your journey to the valley of flowers mainly called as Nubra valley. The road will go through the Khardung La – uppermost motor-able pass in the world at a height of 18390 feet. Click the pictures of panoramic pass and proceed further to reach Nubra valley. On reach explore the Nubra valley your own. Here you will be sighting the rocky to snowy mountains, rivers, sand dunes, deserts and many more. On reach, check into the campsite and enjoy the night with a delicious feast.
Day 7 : NUBRA VALLEY – LEH (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Get up early this morning to drive further to Hunder where you can ride on a double humped Bactrian camel, which still exists in the middle of the sand dunes of a high altitude desert with snowcapped mountains in the forefront. The scenery between Deskit and Hunder presents you both the harsh parched tons with rocky fields to snowcapped ton and rolling sand dunes.
Later visit to the Deskit monastery, which is lying at a peak from where you can take pleasure of the bird’s eye view of the Nubra valley. Late in the afternoon, you will be returning to Leh and in the evening if you are still thrilled then you can go out to the local market where you can explore the Leh cultures
Day 8 : LEH TO PANGONG LAKE (140 KMS / 4 - 5 HRS – ONE WAY)
This morning after having the lavish crowcock meal, move towards the Pangong Lake and Enroute visit the Shey Palace , an ancient capital of Ladakh a place where Film ‘3 Idiots’ has famed its Rancho school. On further drive, you will be halting at Thiksey monastery. As you will pass through the Chang La, so this gives you a chance to sight the stunning sceneries of ‘pass of the south’. You will be planking through various small hamlets, which will lead you to reach the extravagant Blue Pangong Lake. On reach, check into your campsite and explore the vicinity your own. On the sunset return to your campsite for a finger-licking feast and an overnight stay.
Day 9 : PANGONG LAKE TO LEH (140 KMS / 6 HRS)
Freshen up in the dawn, have a delish brunch as today you going to explore the beauty of pond one last time and then depart for Leh. Enroute visit Hemis Gompa one of the largest solitary basis of Drukpa Kagyu sort of Tibetan Buddhism. On reach, visit the market place for some last minute memento shopping and then return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10 : LEH TO JISPA (315 KMS)
Today after having the crowcock meal you will be proceedings to Jispavia through Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft world second highest motor able road. At Pang you can stop for lunch and continue driving to Baralacha la pass, which is at a height of 4890 mtr. Upon arrival in Jispa, we check in at our Camp/ Hotel for overnight
Day 11 : JISPA TO MANALI (162 KMS)
Freshen up early this morning, have crowcock meal and head towards Manali via Keylong (3350 m)&Rohtang Pass (3978 m).
Manali, Located in the most charming and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas. Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, laid the fabled 'Silver Valley’. The evening will be at leisure to explore the area on your own and overnight stay at the hotel
Day 12 : MANALI TO CHANDIGARH DROP
This is the last day of your trip, as today you will be departing towards Chandigarh to catch the flight or Train for your onward Destination
