Day 1 : Zagreb, arrival

Day 2 : Zagreb sightseeing
After breakfast we are taking you to discover Zagreb, Croatian cultural, scientific, economical and political center. With numerous museums, galleries, theatres, churches, cafes, open markets, clubs and pubs, Zagreb is today a city pulsing with life. A city which owes its beauty and charm to prosperous periods of baroque, classicism and secession.
Stroll down the streets of Zagreb and hear all of the past, legends and battles that once happen in this area. Day 3 : Zagreb – Plitvice lakes – Zadar
We are leaving Zagreb in the morning and heading to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. The Lakes are the oldest and the biggest national park in Croatia, a world natural heritage site which is under the UNESCO protection since the 1979. We will hike along the beautiful and crystal clear lakes with numerous cascades and waterfalls and admire the natural wonders of this remarkable place.
In the afternoon we are coming to Zadar. The particularity of the city is irresistible for those who respect and admire historical monuments and cultural heritage, artists, tourists and its citizens. Zadar is a city monument, surrounded by historical ramparts, a treasury of the archaeological and monumental riches of ancient and medieval times, Renaissance and many contemporary architectural achievements such as the first sea organs in the world.

Day 4 : Zadar – Krka – Split

After the Krka, we are driving to Split. The story of Split is already 17 centuries old, dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city Salona, where he wanted to spend the last years of his life. During these 1700 years the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. Diocletian Palace and the entire historical core of Split have been on the World Heritage UNESCO list ever since 1979. Overnight in Split.
Day 5 : Trogir – Salona – Split
Trogir, the city with 2300 years of tradition, is a remarkable example of urban island settlement from the Hellenistic period. In first century Trogir became Roman municipality ‘Tragurium’, and joined to Salona, center of Roman province of Dalmatia. Upon the fall of the Roman Empire, Trogir has became an independent town. It has beautiful Romanesque churches which are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period, and in 1997 UNESCO acknowledged Trogir as a World cultural Heritage.
3000 years old ‘Salona’, today Solin, was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and the birthplace of Emperor Diocletian. In the 7th century town was destroyed after the arrival of Avars and Croats, and refugees escaped to Diocletian’s Palace, in Split. Known as ‘The Cradle of Croatian history’, it was one of the capital cities in Medieval Croatian state, and a place where Croatian King Demetrius Zvonimir was crowned in 11th century. Today, Solin preserved remains of old city and the arena, where gladiators fought till death.

A walk through the ancient Split takes you through time, along the great examples of ancient architecture like Peristyle, the middle aged Romanesque Church and Gothic Palace, Renaissance portals of the noblemen’s houses, Baroque facades and modern architecture superbly merged in the rich heritage. Day 6 : Imotski – Mostar
Imotski is an area where there is a large number of stećci. Stećci are under UNESCO protection. Most of them (stećci) you can found along paths or along the old Roman roads that ran from Salona (Solin) to Narona (Vid kod Metkovića). Tombstones (stećci) are blocks that are placed in a specific order. These clumsily and somewhat harshly treated monument have found their place in the history of Imotski region , and witnesses literacy, culture, faith and power in this region. Imotski tombstones have their own characteristics that distinguish them from other groups such as neighboring Cetina or Herzegovinian.
The Blue and the Red Lake have been recognized at the top tourist attraction of Imotski. Both lakes are natural phenomenon, also known as 'pearls of the nature'. The Blue Lake is almost bordering with the town of Imotski, while the Red Lake is only one kilometre away. Blue Lake got named after the colour of water in it, and Red Lake's name comes from the red stones that surrounds it. The Blue one is very attractive to media during periods of extreme drought because when the lake gets dry local people form play football at the bottom.

Day 7 : Ston – Dubrovnik
Popularly known as ‘The Great Wall of Europe’, more than five kilometers in length, Ston town walls are the longest complete fortress system around a town in Europe and the second in the world. Built in 15th century as a first line of defense, heavily fortified, with a purpose to protect a precious commodity – salt. Ston was economically and strategically the most important place in the Dubrovnik Republic. With the tradition of harvesting salt for over 4000 years, ‘The City of Salt’ is confirmed even nowadays as the oldest active salt pans in the world. Saltworks were built there in the 13th century, today producing salt in the same way as eight centuries ago.
Dubrovnik, ‘The Pearl of the Adriatic', is known for its spectacular seafront location on the Dalmatian coast and breathtaking beauty. For most of its history, Dubrovnik was a republic of its own and a beacon of diplomacy. In 13th century it became the trading power of the Mediterranean, keeping its freedom of trade through diplomatic routs and their protective walls and fortress. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 8 : Dubrovnik
The architecture, philosophy, science, literature and music of Dubrovnik are an irresistible part of the cultural heritage of Europe, which is why UNESCO has placed Dubrovnik under its special protection in 1979. The City offers unique experience, numerous cultural activities and festivals. It was the main filming location for King's Landing (Game of Thrones) and one of the filming locations for Star Wars: Episode VIII.
We are going to spend our last night on the tour in Dubrovnik.
Day 9 : Dubrovnik, departure
The last day of our tour has come. From Zagreb to Split, on the mainland, and to Dubrovnik on the sea, we had a wonderful time together. Breakfast at hotel and departure to the airport for outbound flight.
