The Jomsom Muktinath trek is a culturally rich and spectacularly beautiful trek in the Annapurna region. One of the plus points of the Jomsom Muktinath trek is that it is suitable for anybody with a moderate level of fitness. The maximum altitude that we will be conquered for the Jomsom Muktinath trek is 3850m, hence it is an altitude free trek with some pilgrimage opportunities. Trekking along the deepest gorge in the world, the Kali Gandaki gorge, devouring the breathtaking views of the exquisite snowcapped peaks including Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri massif, the Jomsom Muktinath trek is definitely one of a kind. The Jomsom Muktinath trek also gives you a chance to explore the ancient age-old monasteries, magical deep caves, pristine waterfalls, exquisite culture, traditions and lifestyle of the Thakali people with the scenic beauties of the varied landscapes of greenery and barren lands. As for one of the main highlights of this trek, it includes the great Hindu temple of Muktinath with 108 waterspouts.
Through the initial days of the trek, the Annapurna region ascends and takes us through picturesque rice terraces and ethnic villages inhabited by the indigenous people, mostly the Gurung. The trek starts becoming more interesting as we get to Tatopani, where you will get a chance to relax and rejuvenate yourself in the natural hot water springs! As we keep on walking through narrow trails, the trek passes through Jomsom and Kagbeni, the entry points of the upper Mustang Region. As we move ahead, then the first glimpse of the windy Tibetan Plateau telecasts itself and later the grandeur of the Dhaulagiri Glacier is on a show on the way to the holy Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath (3850m). The Jomsom Muktinath trek takes us to the sacred temple of Muktinath where there are 108 waterfalls that resemble water flowing from taps and mysterious natural gas fires that boggle and amaze the mind. After we explore Muktinath to the fullest, we move downhill to the apple village of Jomsom on the Tibetan Plateau, where we can take a look at the aerial view of the "Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang", and get a glimpse of the ancient traditions still in practice even today. Right next day, a mountain flight will bring us to Pokhara as we enjoy the stunning views for the last time. Later, a few hours' drive through the beautiful countryside will land us back to the capital city of Kathmandu.Sightseeing or any extra activities except the above program
