Overview:

This is a 9 day tour visiting all the main sites of Jordan, with a touch of adventure off the beaten track. A private tour with your own driver and guide if requested.

Petra - Discover the Rose Red City, lost for centuries to the outside world.

Dead Sea - Float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on earth.

Wadi Rum - Explore the majestic desert of Wadi Rum

Aqaba - Take your pick of the water sport delights of the Red Sea, from snorkelling and scuba to windsurfing or just relaxing on the beach.

Ajloun, Kerak and Jerash - walk through and touch history at the Roman, Crusader and Ayyubid sites.Entrances fees (approx $130 - paid directly by clients).
All lunches and all dinners.
Visa fee to Jordan ($30 pp or free for groups – certain conditions apply).
Departure taxes ($15 pp at land borders). Airport tax is usually included on air-tickets. Taxes subject to change with no notice.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Collection from the airport and transfer direct to your hotel.
  
  Depending upon your flight arrival time, we can offer additional activities for the day. Overnight in Amman.

• Day 2 : Amman City Tour and Desert Castles

  Take a tour of the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city.
  
  Stop for lunch at a local restaurant to experience authentic Falafel and Hummus.
  
  Head east into the desert and visit some of Jordan’s Desert Castles. They are beautiful examples of early Islamic art and architecture, with fine mosaics and frescos.
  
  See the stunning artwork in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Qasr Amra.

• Day 3 : Karak & Wadi Ibn Hammad

  Visit the ancient crusader castle in Karak, exploring the maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways. The city of Karak was the capital of Moab and the castle dominates the skyline. The castle provides an impressive insight into the architectural and military skills of the Crusaders.
  
  Take a walk through the water in the beautiful gorge of Wadi Ibn Hammad, starting at the hot springs and hiking through the abundant vegetation and hanging plants.
  
  Drive South to Petra and overnight in Petra.

• Day 4 : Petra

  Marvel at the beauty of the ‘Lost City’, the Red Rose City of Petra, exploring its many caves and tombs.
  
  Walk through the Siq and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World.
  
  Either stay overnight in a hotel in Petra, or take the optional night under the stars in Wadi Rum (Drive to Wadi Rum and marvel at the sunset and gaze at the stars in the night sky whilst enjoying the legendary hospitality of the Bedouin, before sleeping at the foot of the awesome mountains exploding out from the desert landscape).
  
  Overnight in Petra or option for overnight under the stars in Wadi Rum.

• Day 5 : Wadi Rum

  Enjoy the wilderness adventure of a 4x4 jeep tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges.
  
  Then drive to Aqaba. Overnight in Aqaba.

• Day 6 : Aqaba

  Jordan’s window to the Red Sea, Aqaba brings a refreshing variation to the sands of Wadi Rum and Petra.
  
  Free day to spend relaxing as you choose, either exploring the markets of the downtown or visiting one of the beach resorts to swim, snorkel or scuba dive to admire the world-renowned multi-coloured coral reefs, fish and wildlife under the clear blue water. Driver and Guide at your disposal.
  
  Return and overnight in Amman.

• Day 7 : Ajloun, Jerash and Umm Qais

  Head north to walk through history in Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East.
  
  Then on to Ajloun and visit the castle, dominating the Ajloun skyline and built to ward off the Crusader armies at the key trade and pilgrimage intersection between Jerusalem, Cairo, Damascus and Mecca.
  
  Travel to the northern tip of Jordan and savor the beauty of Umm Qais, the Greek and Roman city overlooking the Jordan valley and the Sea of Galilee.
  
  Overnight in Amman.

• Day 8 : Madaba, Mount Nebo and Dead Sea

  Drive to the town of Madaba and discover the amazing Byzantine mosaics excavated from throughout the town.
  
  See the ‘Madaba Map’, the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Lands.
  
  Drive to Mount Nebo and wonder at the view where Moses looked across to the Promised Land and later died and was buried.
  
  Then head down the winding road to the lowest point on earth to float and relax at the Dead Sea. Enjoy the sunshine and view whilst trying out the invigorating mud bath to cleanse the skin.
  
  Overnight in Amman, or optional overnight on the shores of the Dead Sea at one of the hotel and spas.

  • Hotspots Mount Nebo

• Day 9 : Depart

  Free day and transfer to airport.
  
  Depending upon the time of your flight, we can arrange optional tours such as Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptized.
