Tsomoriri Lake: Situated in the Changthang region of Ladakh, Tsomoriri Lake is a pristine high-altitude lake surrounded by barren mountains and vast plains. The area is a paradise for birdwatchers, with numerous migratory birds flocking here during the summer months. The Korzok Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the lake, is another highlight.
Tsokar Lake: Known as the "White Lake" due to its high salt content, Tsokar Lake is a scenic saltwater lake nestled amidst rugged mountains. The lake is part of the Tso Kar Basin, which is a designated Ramsar site and an important habitat for migratory birds like the black-necked crane.
Puga Valley: Puga Valley is famous for its hot water springs, which are believed to have therapeutic properties. The valley is also known for its geothermal activity, with several hot water geysers and mud volcanoes dotting the landscape. The sulfur springs of Puga are particularly renowned for their healing properties.
Day 1 : Day 01: Delhi – Leh
After an exciting flight from Delhi to Leh, we receive you at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche airport, Leh and transfer you to hotel for acclimatization. Evening takes a short walk to the main leh market.
Day 2 : Day 02: East Leh Tour: Thiksey-Hemis Gompa-Stok Museum
After breakfast you will be driving to the east leh tours of Thiksey, the most popular Buddhist monastery It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, and is the largest gompa in central Ladakh It is a twelve-storey complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas wall paintings and swords. One of the main points of interest is the Maitreya Temple installed to commemorate the visit of the 14th Dalai Lama to this monastery in 1970; it contains a 15 metres (49 ft) high statue of Maitreya, the largest such statue in Ladakh, covering two stories of the building.
and then heading towards the famous Hemis monastery in the deep gorge. These are the ancient Buddhist monasteries along the Indus river, drive back enroute visit to Stok royal museum for local costume, ornament and local King Palace. Drive back to Leh. Spend the evening at Leh market if not Tired.
Day 3 : Day 03: West Leh Tour:
After breakfast drive to visit one of the most beautiful sights along the west Leh Tour. See the confluence of the two rivers. Visit to Likir, the beautiful monastery and Alchi, the 11th century most popular fresco painting, It is called the Ajanta of North India. Lunch in Alchi at (Alchi Kitchen) and then drive back to Leh enroute visiting to Basgo old castle. Overnight hotel at Leh.
Day 4 : Day 04: Nubra Valley via Khardongla Pass 17982ft.
After breakfast drive to one of the World’s highest motorable road “Khardongla Pass” 17982fts, which take you to Nubra Valley- the Valley of flowers, as it is means. It has the most beautiful landscape, the tiny villages, ruff road and exciting path are memorable for a life time. Bectrian camel and sand dune will give you a surprise in your mind and think of ancient silkd route trade to different part of the world. A Natural hot spring will also nicer to experience. Overnight stay at Guesthouse/Hotel/Camp.
Day 5 : Day 05: Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok River (147 Km / 5 hrs drive)
After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake, at 14,500 ft, via Shayok. On arrival at Camp at pangong, free time at leisure to enjoy the colour changing lake and the sunset on the banks of the Pangong lake. Overnight on the banks of Pangong Lake.
PANGONG LAKE: The name Pangong is derived from the Tibetan word Banggong meaning long, narrow, enchanted lake. There is a narrow ramp-like formation of land that runs into the lake which is a favourite among tourists and photographers. Due to the saltiness in the water of the lake, there is very less micro-vegetation. There are no fish or other aquatic life in the lake, except for some small crustaceans. However, numerous ducks and gulls over and on the lake surface can be spotted in plenty.
Day 6 : Day 06: Tsomoriri lake tour
After breakfast drive to Tsomoriri lake, via Tsaga la which is situated at an altitude of 4511m above sea level; with an area of about 140 Sq.km. The wetlands and sheltered bays with small islands. These wetlands form the prime habitat for breeding waterflow including the globally threatened Black-necked crane and the Bar-headed goose. The third stream, which enters the lake from the west, has formed a fertile alluvial plain, below the village of Korzok, one of the highest inhabitants to be cultivate in the World. Overnight camping at the lakeside. But advice all the visitor to keep away from disturbing the wildlife, especially globally threatened black naked crane.
Day 7 : Day 7: Tsomoriri lake-Nomad Excursion
After a leisure breakfast at a tour of the nomad area, the people around here are most outstanding feature of this area, that they can be seen moving from one place to other grazing herds of goats, sheep and yaks. Changpas pass their days with their animals and move with their flocks, their only wealth, from pasture to pasture according to changing season. Their flocks, their yaks, and goat's hair furnish the raw material of which they make their ropes, their clothes and shoes. All day long men and women are busy milking, churning the milk into butter, making ropes, weaving mats and other fabrics and repairing their tent. These people have been completely beyond the pale of all civilizing influences. Even towards the fag end of the twenty first century, they actually belong to a primitive, pre-historic age. Hot lunch at camp side and enjoy the calm, peace and serenity of this isolated place. Overnight camp here.
Day 8 : Day 8: Tsomoriri - Tsokar lake
After breakfast drive to Tsokar, which means white lake because of the evaporates found on the margins of the lake. Tsokar, an area of about 20 sq.km, is situated at an altitude of 4530m above sea level and about 160 km southeast of Leh, in the Rupshu Valley of Ladakh region. It situated between the Zanskar range in south-west the Ladakh region in the north-east Tsokar is also called salt lake, as in ancient time local Changspa extract salts out of it and it is surrounded by extensive areas of fresh and saline marshes and wet meadows, which host a varieties of water birds, including Black-necked crane, great crested grebe, Bar-headed goose and Tibetan Wild Ass- Kyang, great Tibetan Sheep-Nayan and Gazelle are found in this area.
Hot lunch at camp side and evening leisure time to explore more wildlife.
Day 9 : Day 9: Tsokar – Leh
After breakfast drive back to Leh via Taglangla pass, it is Manali –Leh road. Arrive at hotel at Leh and take a good snack.
Day 10 : Day 10 Free Day
Free to do anything.
Day 11 : Day 11: Leh - Delhi.
Early morning drive to airport for onward journey to Delhi with the sweet memories of Ladakh, the Himalayas!
