Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kathmandu 1300 m

  After check in is done at hotel if time permits we will take you PashupathiNath temple for the fire ceremony (Aarati), which is one of the most spectacular events at the temple and we will also arrange Sankalp/ Puja for successful journey of Kailash Yatra along with guidance of pashupati Area Development Trust and if time does not permit we will provide it next day. On return we will have dinner ready.
• Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing

  After breakfast, we will brief about the trip, following this you will have free time for shopping and packing for the rest of the high altitude yatra that you are about to embark on. You can walk to the Local market area and Kumari temple after lunch and in the evening we will take you Buddhanilkantha / Swayambhunath / Baudhanath (Buddha’s) Stupa to view the Kathmandu.
• Day 3 : Kathmandu to Nyalam 3800 m

  After breakfast, Drive Kathmandu - Kodari - Nyalam (138 km) at Kodari (border). After immigration and customs formalities on both sides (Nepal and China). We drive to the small town Nyalam. Overnight at Hotel. (3800m)
• Day 4 : Nyalam 3800 m

  We will spend the day acclimatizing in Nyalam with easy hikes into the hills nearby and by walking in and around the local town. This helps a lot to make the body fit for the rest of driving days. One more day is recommended to spend here to acclimatize fully to be very fit on the onward journey.
• Day 5 : Nyalam to Zhongba 4400 m

  Past Nyalam the road climbs up to La Lung (5050m) then drops down before heading to the western part of Tibet. From this point you will see stunning views of the Himalayas and chain valleys, as well as some of the highest peaks (8000m) including Shisha Pangma (8012 m). You will see the grazing lands of yaks and sheep, the traditional villages and Bhramaputra River are also highlights on the long driving day. By late afternoon we will arrive in the town of New Zhongba. Depend on the follow of Yatris and health we can spend a night at Saga as well.
• Day 6 : Zongba to Lake Manasarovar 4600 m

  By late afternoon you will drive through green pastures and massive valleys yield to the first sighting of Mount Kailash and blue waters of Lake Manasarovar. We will drive around the lake, the Holiest Lake Manasarovar and overnight will be on Chu Gumba.
• Day 7 : Rest Day at Manasarovar

  The four great rivers of the Indian sub-continent [the Brahmaputra, Sutlej, Ganges (Karnali), and Indus] all flow from the shores this Holy Lake. This day offers a wonderful opportunity to visit the great lake and take in the spectacular views of Mt. Gurula Mandhata (7694m) to the south and Kailash (6638 m) to the north. In the morning, the tour staff will set up private bathing tent on the shores of Lake Manasarovar for the traditional sacred bath and the Fire Ceremony with Mantra Chants, homa, Offering 108 Bel leaf ar Shivling etc will follow before the lunch. Staying an extra night here helps to acclimatize your body to adjust further for the great journey to the Parikarma, trekking around the Holy Mountain. Or you can drive to Darchen for night stay.
• Day 8 : Manasarovar to Darchen 4600m

  After breakfast or lunch you will be heading north towards Darchen, a small town with all the basic facilities which is the base of Holy Mountain. An amazing trip to Tirthapuri (Hot Springs) can be plan on the way to Darchen or visit Austapad once you are there in Darchen. (Please note that driving to Trithapuri and Austapad is not included in the regular trip).
• Day 9 : Trek to Derapuk 4910m, north of Kailash. Total hiking 14 km, 6-7 hrs

  Our first day of trekking around Holy Kailash begins at Tarbuche. As we make our way along the route we pass numerous chortens (stupas) as well as the sky burial site of the 84 Mahasiddas. We will walk through the Yama Duar - the Gate of the God of Death to start the Parikrama. We will also take in wonderful views of cascading creeks, streaming waterfalls and the mighty west face of Kailash. We will pass the Chukku monastery and arrive at the Derapuk monastery about 5 hours later (depending on walking speed), where we will stay in the pilgrims' lodge. A short hike is recommended to see and touch the awesome inspiring north face of the great Kailash.
• Day 10 : Trek to Zuthul Puk 4780m. Total hike: 18km, 10-12 hrs

  The hardest day of the pilgrimage is also the holiest. We will cross Shivasthali - a rocky expanse dotted with stone cairns draped with the clothes left as offerings by pilgrims who have come before us. Further hiking ascents up to Dolma-La pass (5640m) and a marvelous sight of Gaurikunda. After a short break at the top of the pass to put prayer flags, we will head down the steep trail to our eventual campsite at Zuthul puk monastery (4790m), site of the cave of miracles where the greatest Tibetan yogi Milarerpa meditated and developed the powers of flying. Along the way we will be having wonderful sights of high peaks, streams, waterfalls and mountain caves.
• Day 11 : Drive to Manasarovar 4600 m

  Trek to end of the valley. Total hike: 12km, 4-5 hours. Drive to Manasarovar (4600m).
  On the last day of our Kailash parikrama, an easy 3 hour walk along the river brings us to where it emerges onto the Barkha plain, Tarchen. The backup team (horse/helpers) will be saying good bye to you with a smile. Our vehicles will be waiting to transport us to Lake Manasarovar from where our transport will take us back to Kathmandu. Night will be spend at Zhongba.
• Day 12 : Drive to Saga 4400 m Stay in Hotel

  Stay in Hotel. We will rush back towards Kathmandu, on the same great road, after living in low-oxygen levels for so many days. We can spend overnight in the famous town of Saga or Nylam once again if needed. Some of the town offers upgraded hotels, restaurants and good shops to make yourself refresh.
