Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Kochi

    Chineese Fishing NetArrival Kochi Airport by Flight from Home. You are picked up from the Airport or from any location in Cochin by the representative of Halo Backwaters for your journey in Kerala. Till recently, Kochi was Cochin, and only half as frenetic. It was a lagoon that made Kochi as cherished destination as far back as the early 16th century and it is the same lagoon that makes Kochi one of the nation's busiest port now.

  • Day 2 : Kochi

    Half day relaxation and on independent activities. Evening enjoy the harbour cruise through the backwaters of Kochi (Cost of this cruise is Extra). Overnight stay at Kochi.

  • Day 3 : Kochi

    After breakfast in the hotel proceed for the sightseeing in and around Kochi. The most important heritage sightseeing is in Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. You will need a couple of hours of leisurly walks to take in this heritage quarter. The heritage quarter are includes Santa Cruz Basilica, Princess Street, St.Francis, Dutch Cemetery, Jew Street, Pardesi Synagogue and Chinese Fishing net.

  • Day 4 : Kochi - Munnar

    Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Munnar, where sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make it a unique experience. On the way visiting Cheyyappara Waterfalls, viewpoints etc. Check in to your resort and get ready for the special trip to Pothamedu for an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The breath taking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks. Return to your resort in the evening.

  • Day 5 : Munnar

    Eravikulam National ParkThis morning after breakfast, visit Mattupetty famous for its highly specialized dairy farm, the Indo-Swiss live stock project. Proceed to Mattupetty Lake and dam, which is a very beautiful picnic spot. You could enjoy boating in the lake and View Mountains and landscapes from afar. Onwards proceed to Echo point famous for the natural echo phenomenon and then to Top Station offering marvelous views of Munnar valley below.

    Say hello to the Nilgiri Tahr.Half the world population of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr lives in the Eravikulam National Park at Munnar. Friendly as they are, you can pat them or pose for pictures with them. So meet them and have plenty to brag about back home.Overnight stay at Munnar.

  • Day 6 : Munnar - Periyar

    Get ready after breakfast for your morning drive to Thekkady (Periyar) nestled in spice and rubber plantations. Known to be Kerala's pride and testimony to nature's splendor, Periyar has a lot to offer in terms of wildlife. Periyar is famous for its rare habitat of birds and animals and is one of the most popular destinations for nature lovers. Check in to your resort and get ready for your trip to cardamom hills where you could have a closer look at the spice plantations.

    Later in the evening enjoy Kathakali dance presentation. Kathakali (literally, story play), the spectacular classical dance drama of Kerala based on the guidelines laid by Saga Bharatha's Natya Sastra,the ancient treatise on dance and drama, is over 500 years old. Overnight at Thekkady.

  • Day 7 : Periyar

    Elephant Ride in PeriyarAfter breakfast visit at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary one of India's biggest wildlife sanctuaries covering 777 sq. Km (300 Sq. miles) is a Tiger Reserve. Its centre piece, the man-made Periyar Lake at the height of 2000 ft. covers 26 sq. km, running through the forests of the Western Ghats in Kerala, discover the park, animals found here include elephant, sambar, gaur and wild boars and birds like ibis and grey heron.

    The visit is done in a boat to view animals with a bit of extra luck we may be able to see the rare tiger as well. A boat ride on the lake is a delightful way of spotting elephants and avifauna. If you are forunate, you might even spot the pride of the sanctuary, the tiger. Although tiger sightings are not very common, there are enough of these magnificent felines around (Boat ride is depend upon the availability of the cruise (Cost of this tour is Extra)).

    Later on proceed to visit the Elephant Junction or Elephant Camp. This is a unique experience, seated atop an elephant; guests are taken along trails into the depths of the cardamom, pepper, coffee and tea plantation. The ride can be a miss of moments of pure terror interspersed with long perid of utter peace. Overnight at Thekkady.

  • Day 8 : Periyar

    Gavi Jeep SafariProceed for a early Morning boat ride on the lake.Or proceed for a Jungle Safari.The program starts at 5.00 AM in the morning which our special Jeep will receive you from your accommodation area 40 kms scenic drive through the jungle. Then you will reach a place called Gavi (Green mansion) there you can have your breakfast and you can start the jungle trekking with specially trained guides after 3hrs trekking you will reach the Green mansion and have Lunch. After that you can have canoeing in the Gavi Lake. Then have tea and snacks and proceeding to Periyar and drop (Cost of this tour is Extra).

    Another option is go a walk in the wild. Nature walk covering 4 - 5 Km on different routes and lasting 3 Hurs.It provides tourists with good opportunities to spot birds and butterflies and occasionally large animals (Cost of this tour is Extra). .Overnight stay at Periyar.

  • Day 9 : Periyar - Kovalam

    After breakfast,drive to Kovalam and check into the resort.Despite the fact that virtually the entire 550 Km length of the Kerala coast is lined with sandy beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms,Kovalam is one of the only place where swimming in the sea is not considered eccentric by locals. Check into the hotel. Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 10 : Kovalam

    Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourists especially Europeans,since the 1930s.A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful Bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing.The day is free for leisure at resort,Ayurveda treatment,massage,yoga classes,swimming,beach volleyball,indoor games and Learn to cook with spices,sunbathing,special cultural programs,Catamaran cruising etc.Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 11 : Kovalam

    Today you can take a tour to Kanyakumari.Watching the sun rise and sun set from here is the big attraction,especially on the full moon day in April,when it's possible to see both the setting sun and rising moon on the same horizon.Other attractions are Kumari Amman Temple,Gandhi Mandapam and Vivekananda Memorial.After sun set,proceed to Kovalam.Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 12 : Kovalam

    Full day relaxation and own activates at Kovalam.Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 13 : Kovalam

    Sri Padmanabhaswami TempleToday you can take sightseeing tour of Trivandrum city, (16 kms) the capital of the state of Kerala. The famous Sri Padmanabhaswamy Swami Temple is dedicated to Vishnu and is a landmark in the city.Other places of interest are the Putten Malige Palace, Art gallery & Zoo.Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 14 : Kovalam

    Full day relaxation and own activities at kovalam.Overnight stay at Kovalam.

  • Day 15 : Kovalam - Alappuzha

    After breakfast drive to Alappuzha.On the way to Alappuzha, visit Kollam Town.

    Check into the houseboat at 12 noon for 1 Night / 2 Days riding in the backwaters & small canals.

    Houseboat Cruise - A glide in a houseboat through the enchanting backwaters is sure to rob your heart. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expense of panoramic sight one can never forgetting less than 15 minutes, the low hum of the motor and the dazzling afternoon light have tuned out the noises in your head, the deadlines, the telephone, the unfinished chapters. Watch the white tire-tread clouds turn into wisps of animal fur and then disappear. The isolation on a luxury houseboat is total. Overnight stay in a houseboat.

    Pick up from Alleppey Finishing Point Jetty at 1200 hours. Cruise through Vembanadu Lake to reach Kumarakam at 17 00 hours. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.

  • Day 16 : Thanneermukkom

    After breakfast step down from the houseboat at Kumarakom and proceed to visit the Bird Sanctuary.The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is an Ornithologist's paradise and a favorite haunt of migrating birds like Siberian stork,darter,heron and teal to name a few.

  • Day 17 : Kuttanad

    Kuttanadu Cruise through Azhikkal Canal, Kuppappuram, Pallathuruthy, Kainakary Church canal, Venattukadu Canal, Cherukayal, C-Blcock, Marthandam, R-Block and reach E-Block Tharishu for the night stay.

  • Day 18 : Kuttanadu

    Cruise through Rajapuram Kayal, Mangalam, Liziu, and reach Pulincunnu. Visit Pulinkunnu Church and the local market. Proceed to Mancompu to visit the Mancompu temple. Night stay at Moonnattumugham.

  • Day 19 : Alappuzha - Kochi

    Cruise through Rajapuram Kayal, Mangalam, Liziu, and reach Pulincunnu. Visit Pulinkunnu Church and the local market. Proceed to Mancompu to visit the Mancompu temple. Night stay at Moonnattumugham.
