Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing
After quick breakfast, we will begin our Kathmandu sightseeing by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square perfectly showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. Among all the sites, we will be first visiting Swayambhunath Temple. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. After that we will visit Pashupatinath Temple, which is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. And at last, we will go to Boudha to visit Boudhnath Stupa, which is one of the largest stupas in South Asia which is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet.
Day 3 : Patan, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot
Depending on your choice; we will visit Nagarkot either at first (early morning) or at last (evening). Nagarkot, a village situated in Bhaktapur which sits at 7,200 ft and boasts stunning Himalayan vistas, is renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. You can either go early in the morning or at evening.
Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. We will be visiting artistic architecture in this site. We will visit Bhaktapur too, which is an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, we get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambience of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur.
Day 4 : Drive to Chitwan
On fourth day of this tour, we will be driving towards Chitwan located 175 km away from Kathamndu. We will be going down along the winding road on the banks of the Trishuli River. After checking in to the hotel, there will be a briefing on the activities we will be engaged in during our stay in Chitwan. You can take a short walk on the banks of the Rapti River to enjoy the sunset in the sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. In the evening, there will be a cultural program showcasing the tribal dances of the Chitwan region of Nepal, which you can enjoy during the lunch.
Day 5 : Chitwan National Park
Early in the morning, we will hop on elephants back for a jungle safari through dense grasslands to witness wildlife in its natural habitat. We will return back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we visit the elephant stables and if you want you can even enjoy bathing the elephants. During the afternoon we will drive through the jungles followed by a canoe ride down the Rapti River. While canoeing, we may get a close look at the Gharial and Mugger crocodiles along with fresh water dolphins, otters and varieties of water birds. Later, we can go for bird watching or nature walk (depending on time) and come closer to a variety of wild flora and fauna found in the park.
Day 6 : Back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, we will spend our time bird-watching as Chitwan National Park is also home to a large variety of resident and migratory birds. We will then have breakfast and drive towards Kathmandu. We will reach there by evening and enjoy our farewell dinner to celebrate a successful end of our trip in Nepal.
