Kathmandu – Nagarkot- Changunarayan hiking is one of the most popular and classic hiking that takes you to the beautiful and popular hill station of Nagarkot (2,175 m.) in Nepal. Nagarkot is one of the best sunset viewpoints lying on the northeastern rim of the Kathmandu valley. This beautiful hillock also offers the panoramic view of the Himalayan ranging from Dhaulagiri in the west and Mt. Everest in the east, Annapurna (8091m/ 26,545ft), Manasalu (8165m/ 26,781ft), Ganesh Himal (7446m/ 24,422ft) and Lantang Lirung (7245m/ 23,763ft), Mt Shisa Pangma( 8013m) Mt Gauri Shankar (7145m) and many more mountains.

Your hiking from Kathmandu to Nagarkot starts from Sankhu – a historical trading town. We drive for 40 minutes via bus from Kathmandu to reach Sankhu. From Sankhu we hike up hills passing through beautiful hills, wilderness areas and traditional rural villages providing you an opportunity to experience the rural Nepali culture, art, architecture and lifestyle and offering you beautiful scenery of the emerald hills strewn with flowers of different color, pristine rivers flowing through the slopes and crossing your way on the trail to reach the hill top of Nagarkot. While returning back on the way back we hike up to Changu Narayan temple a temple of Lord Vishnu, which is also situated in the hill top and is one of the World Heritage Site. From there we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  We receive you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
• Day 2 :

  After having a breakfast, we drive to Sankhu by the private vehicle; it will take about 40 minute drives via car. You can have a pleasant walk for four hours from Sakhu to Nagarkot. Take a lunch on the way. Overnight we stay in the Hotel in Nagarkot (2,170 m.)
• Day 3 :

  We climb the hill top early in the morning and view of Sunrise over the great Himalayan Ranges including Everest (8,848 m.) and others high mountains. On the way back we visits famous and historical Hindu temple Changunarayan (World Heritage Site by UNESCO) and drive back to Kathmandu.
• Day 4 :

  Continue for your next trip or final departure on your own destination.
