Day 1 : Welcome to Irkutsk
Welcome to Irkutsk. At the airport, you’ll be greeted by your 56th Parallel tour leader and led to the minibus. From the airport, you’ll be transferred to Buguldeika village situated on the Lake Baikal shore, 200 km from Irkutsk.
Guests will have a quick lunch at a roadside café on their journey. By your
arrival, you will have learned the basics of kayaking and will take a short trip to your camping place. You will then spend the night in tents enjoying the wilderness around them.
Day 2 : Sennaya Bay
After breakfast, your Baikal kayaking journey will begin.
Today you’ll cover around 20 km of Baikal waters, stopping along the way at several beautiful spots to take photos and rest. On rout enjoy the beautiful views of Sennaya Bay, before spending the rest of the afternoon on its shores and camping overnight.
Day 3 : Peschanaya Bay
Today will include a half-day transition, while the second half of the day will be spent in one of the most spectacular spots on Lake Baikal – Peschanaya Bay.
The bay is famous for its golden beaches, emerald water and ‘walking trees’ – where water, winds and even guests can pass through under the tree’s roots.
You will set up camp in a nearby bay called “Babushka” (meaning
‘grandmother’) and are welcome to explore the scenic surrounds in the
afternoon.
Day 4 : Srednie Bay
Half a day is not nearly enough time to enjoy and immerse in the beauty of
Peschanaya Bay, so on day 4 you will have the opportunity to explore for another half day.
After this, you will return to your kayaks and start your trip to Srednie Homyty – a picturesque bay in the middle of dense forests. If the
weather is kind, you’ll have the chance to see Baikal seals peering at you from the clear waters of Lake Baikal.
Day 5 : Farewell hugs
After breakfast, you will kayak to Bolshoe Goloustnoe Village where you’ll be treated to lunch in the traditional Siberian village before your tour comes to an end.
Today’s kayaking journey will be special and leisurely, allowing you to take
in every little detail and have one last chance to row across the clear and
mysterious waters of Lake Baikal.
You will arrive in the village, to have lunch and pack your things, and the minibus will take you back to Irkutsk.
