Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive

  Touch down in Africa at Joma Kenyatta International Airport. The adventure begins! A Sentinel representative will be cheerfully waiting to meet you on arrival and transfer you to Fairview Hotel, Nairobi for check-in and an overnight stay.

• Day 2 : Masai Mara National Reserve

  This morning after your breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Masai Mara National Reserve, often reffered to as "the safari jewel". Your Mara flight is scheduled to depart at 10h30 and the flight duration is around 1 hour depending on bush-stop overs. A sentinel driver guide will receive you as you disembark your Air Kenya flight. You will have a game drive en route to the camp where you will settle in at Sentinel Mara Camp; an exclusive tented eco camp set up in a forest along the banks of the Mara River within the Masai Mara Reserve offering guests an authentic close to nature experience.

  After breakfast, your days will be filled with various activities such as early morning and late afternoon game drives, nature walks, sundowners, evening drinks by the campfire, starlit dinners and so much more! Our friendly staff will ensure you have an unforgettable experience.
  
  You will have the opportunity to visit a local Masai village to observe the traditional Masai way of life. Our Masai staff will be available to talk about Masai customs and culture around the campfire in the evenings. The more energetic can learn how to shoot with a bow and arrow as well as learn how to throw a spear or rungu.

  After breakfast, if you would like, you could enjoy an early morning hot air balloon ride looking out over the stunning landscape of the Mara Plains. You might also have a chance to visit the local Maasai village to learn about the customs and way of life of the Maa tribe.   After your lunch and one last look at the African bush, you will board your flight to Nairobi. You will be met by a Sentinel representative who will transfer you from Wilson Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight to Johannesburg for your overnight stay at the Peermont Mondior Hotel.

• Day 6 : A Zambezi River Lodge

  After breakfast, depart for your flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival at Victoria Falls airport, you will be met by a representative of Private Safaris who will arrange your transfers to your hotel A Zambezi River Lodge.

  Located in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 25 km from the airport, nestling on the banks of the might Zambezi River within the periphery of the Zambezi National Park. A' Zambezi is the perfect retreat to relax and unwind in the quiet ambience of the African wild life and nature. Later the afternoon, enjoy a sundowner Zambezi River cruise which is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of game, including elephants, hippo, crocodiles and different bird species.
• Day 7 : Tour of the Falls

  To discover how the Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them, this guided tour is well worth taking. These tours are extremely informative and end with a visit to the local art and crafts centre. The Tours includes National Park Fees, the services of a qualified guide and bottled mineral water. Remainder of the day is spent at leisure or guests can book optional content.

  Later the evening you have the option to be taken to an area called Gurus forest for a cultural Boma Dinner eating experience (for your own account). This is not just another ethnic restaurant but a cultural experience. The excellent cuisine is accompanied by entertainment throughout your meal from traditional dancers and the Songoma (story teller). The highlight of the evening is the interactive dancing and drumming.

• Day 9 : Nelspruit

  After breakfast- check out at the hotel, and you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Nelspruit Airport (Kruger).
  Upon arrival at Nelspruit Airport (the closest airport to the lodge) and you will be met by a representative from Maqueda Lodge/Private Safaris at the airport for your land transfers to Maqueda Lodge. Later the evening enjoy your first 3 course dinner at the Lodge.

  Any additional activities not mentioned in the itinerary are for your own account. Ensure that you have USD in cash for payment of visas as credit cards are not accepted. Visas can be purchased (+-USD100) on arrival at Vic Falls Airport. It is the responsibility of the traveller to check all visa requirements and costs.

  Rise early for your open air game drive in the world renowned Kruger National Park and experience South Africa at it's finest throughout the day. Keep a close eye out for the Big 5, lion, leopard , rhino, buffalo and elephant. Capture magical and memorable photographic moments in the open air vehicle with qualified game rangers.The game drive is approximately 6 -8 hours.
