Day 1 : Arrive Kochi
Welcome to your 'Kerala - Monsoon Magic' tour! Arrive into Kochi Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station from where you reach the hotel on your own. Kochi consists of mainland Ernakulum, the islands of Willingdon, Bolgatty and Gundu in the harbor: Fort Cochin,Mattancherry and Vypeen Island. All these areas are linked by bridges and ferry. The rest of the day is free to relax and to indulge in activities on your own. You can explore the local market or take a harbour cruise or even watch a Kathakali Dance performance on your own. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2 : Kochi - Munnar
This morning proceed on a sightseeing tour of the Fort Kochi area where you will visit the St. Francis Church, Mattenchary Palace, the Synagogue and see Chinese Fishing Nets.
St.Francis Church is said to be India's oldest European built church, built by Portuguese Franciscan friars. The original wooden structure was rebuilt in stone around the mid-16th century.After the occupation of Kochi by the British in 1795,it became an Anglican church and is presently being used by the Church of South India. Having passed away in Kochi in 1524, Vasco da Gama was buried here for 14 years before his remains were taken to Lisbon. His tombstone can be seen in the church.
The Mattancherry Palace was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and was presented to the raja of Kochi as a goodwill gesture. The side galleries have amazing murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranic legends.
The synagogue was built in 1568 and destroyed by the Portuguese in 1662 and rebuilt two years later when the Dutch took Kochi. It features hand painted willow patterned floor tiles brought from China. Inside the sanctuary is an ornate gold pulpit and an upstairs balcony for women who worship separately according to the community's Orthodox rites.
After sightseeing, proceed to Munnar - the land of tea plantations. On arrival check into your hotel.

Day 3 : In Munnar
Set in the mountain scenery, once known as the High Range of Travancore, the hill station of Munnar is the commercial centre of some of the world's highest tea - growing estates.With its craggy peaks, manicures tea estates and crisp mountain air, Munnar is an ideal retreat.
After breakfast proceed to see the charming old Christ Church with its original fourteen rows of wooden pews. Also visit the Gap road for a panoramic view of the valley. In the afternoon, visit Mattupetty Lake which is flanked by steep hills and woods and has been created by the small hydro-electricity dam there. Return to the hotel after sightseeing.

Day 4 : Munnar - Kumarakom
Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam, famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in Kerala. Arrive and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the environment. In the evening proceed for a cruise on the lake.

Day 5 : Kumarakom - Marari
Early in the morning pay a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit.After the visit return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast checkout and proceed to Marari, where,on arrival, you will check into the resort.
Little known Marari Beach, not far from Alleppey in Kerala, is perfect for those people, exploring Kerala, who feel like some time at the beach as well. This beach is quiet and undeveloped, a peaceful place to relax and unwind.The name Marari is shortened from Mararikulam, a small and sleepy fisherman's village.
The entire day is at leisure.

Day 6 : Depart Kerala * Return home with happy memories
Today bid farewell to your 'Kerala - Monsoon Magic' tour as you are transferred to Kochi. On arrival you will be dropped off at a convenient location from where you proceed to the airport / railway station on your own.
